Russia’s tyre production down 30% since 2021

According to Rosstat, Russia’s Federal State Statistics Service, tyre makers within the Russian Federation produced 45.6 million tyres and rubber tubes last year, 10.2 per cent fewer than in 2022 – a figure in turn 21.4 per cent lower than the 65.1 million tyres and rubber tubes manufactured in 2021. In total, tyre and tube production decreased 30.0 per cent between 2021 and 2023.
From this 2023 total of 45.6 million tyres and tubes, 30.4 million were passenger car tyres. Tyre makers in Russia manufactured 11.5 per cent fewer of these products than in 2022. Truck, bus and trolleybus tyres accounted for a further 6.5 million units, representing a 1.9 per cent increase on 2022 figures. Agricultural tyre production was down 20.0 per cent year-on-year in 2023, to 1.1 million tyres.
