Three killed in Indian tyre plant fire

A fire at a plant operated by India’s TVS Srichakra Limited has killed three employees and injured five. The fire broke out at the company’s Madurai factory on 16 September. The Times of India reports that the three fatally injured workers were in the plant’s paint shop at the time.

According to the newspaper, two company officials have been arrested in relation to the blaze. Manager V Shanmugakumaran and safety supervisor J Lakshmikanthan have been charged with causing death by negligence, says the Times of India.
