Hayes Lemmerz Receives Engineering Award
Hayes Lemmerz International, Inc. has been awarded the American Foundry Society (AFS) 2005 Plant Engineering Award for its Vacuum Riserless Casting/Pressure Riserless Casting (VRC/PRC) technology. AFS representatives presented the award on 17 April 17 2005 at the 2005 CastExpo in St. Louis, Missouri.
The purpose of the AFS Plant Engineering Award is to recognize a company for its plant engineering achievement in planning, installation, operation and maintenance and automation of foundry equipment. The award’s emphasis is on the application and implementation of new and innovative equipment associated with existing and new cast metal technology. The award is also intended to encourage the advance of technical expertise and professionalism of foundry engineering.
Hayes Lemmerz’s equipment and engineering division in Au Gres, Michigan manufactures the VRC/PRC system. This business unit designs and builds automated foundry equipment and systems for foundries worldwide.
