Xingda, the steel tyre cord manufacturer, has released its sustainability report for 2022, the second of its kind. Within the details, the fact that 32.89 per cent of Xingda’s output consisted of super-high or ultra-high tensile strength products, commonly used in EV tyres, is noteworthy.
Jiangsu Xingda, a leading tyre cord supplier, registered an 11 per cent growth in sales volume in the first half of 2023. Within the overall sales increase, steel cord sales grew by nearly 12 per cent, bead wire sales grew by 6 per cent, and hose wire sales grew by 12 per cent.
On 17 March, Xingda Steel Tyre Cord held a ceremony celebrating the commencement of production at the second phase project of the company’s Shandong factory. Liu Tao and Hang Youming, deputy general managers of the steel tyre cord manufacturer, attended the event. In his speech, Liu Tao revealed that the Shandong factory’s second phase mainly serves tyre companies in Shandong Province and northern China.
Tyre cord manufacturer Xingda and Continental Group recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement at Xingda Steel Tyre Cord (Thailand) Co. Ltd. Details of what is involved in the agreement remain to be seen at this stage, but Xingda representatives report that the cooperation includes improving the supplier management services in Europe.
On October 3, the Thailand factory of Jiangsu Xingda Steel Tyre Cord Co and Rojana Industrial Park Public Co held a land signing ceremony. It is reported that after seven months of planning, site selection and communication, the steel tyre cord factory finally decided to place Phase II in the Bowin Industrial Park in Chonburi Province, managed by Rojana.
At the end of July, Chinese tyre cord manufacturer Xingda announced that it is investing 1.6 billion yuan (£200 million; 232.432 million euros; $237 million) adding 200,000 tons of steel cord annual production capacity to its Thailand factory. The planned construction period is 24 months and the project has been officially approved by China’s National Development and Reform Commission.
On 28 July, Xingda, which specialises in rubber reinforcement such tyre cord, officially released its 2021 sustainability report with a special event at its headquarters. According to the company, it is the first sustainability report released by Xingda, also the first by any Chinese steel cord or bead wire maker.
Chinese tyre cord manufacturer Xingda has opened a European office in Luxembourg. The new European operation has been registered as Xingda Europe Limited and is a subsidiary of Xingda International Holding Company.
