Toyo Tire strategic partnership with SUV parts supplier JAOS

Toyo Tire has signed a strategic partnership agreement with JAOS Corporation, the SUV automotive components manufacturer. Toyo and JAOS aim to increase the value of their brands in the SUV and four-wheel drive market around the world through mutual collaboration in marketing activities. The two companies will leverage their aggregate knowledge gained through joint participation in motorsports events and original product testing, for delivering products with enhanced appeal to the market.

Toyo has launched its new Open Country AT Plus tyre in an event at the Hungaroring. The versatile new all-terrain tyre was demonstrated on what Toyo calls one of the most demanding off-road courses in Europe, as well as completing a series of tarmac challenges. The tyre was fitted to a variety of 4×4 and off-road vehicles too, including the Volkswagen Touraeg and Audi Q3 SUVs, and the Toyota Land Cruiser, Volkswagen Amarok and Isuzu D-Max.

Toyo’s Open Country W/T tyre is Audi’s choice as OEM fitment on its flagship Q7 model, a fact that Toyo says proves its quality. The Japanese manufacturer designed the model as a highway winter tyre for SUVs, but says its compound and tread design also make it a capable all-rounder suitable for UK driving conditions during most of the year.
