Tire Group International celebrates 30th anniversary

Tire Group International (TGI) has turned 30 years old, and as part of the year-long celebration of three decades in the business, the US-based tyre and tube supplier is commemorating the clients, team members and friends that helped the company get to where it is today.

The world of tyres and that of the silver screen seldom cross paths. They notably did so in 2010 when French director Quentin Dupieux brought us Rubber, the tale of an anthropomorphised but troubled tyre named Robert. They cross paths again in 2021, this time via a film jointly written and produced by a major name in the tyre wholesaling sector.

Cosmo Mud Kicker tyre launched

Cosmo Tires, Tire Group International’s (TGI) oldest private label, has launched what it describes as “a premium mud tyre that is all about functional design”. The Cosmo Mud Kicker features a patented shoulder and bead area design designed to “raise the bar in off-road performance.” In addition, TGI reports that the tyre features an industry first reinforced bead area that provides grip features for added traction surface in deep mud or snow.

TGI opening new warehouse

Independent US tyre wholesaler Tire Group International is opening a new distribution facility in Tampa, Florida. The 50,000 square foot (4,650 square metre) centre will be operational as of 4 May and will carry all brands that TGI offers.

TGI enhances Cosmo Tire warranty programme

Cosmo Tires has added a mileage warranty to its passenger and light truck tyre line-up. The Tire Group International brand also has a “recap and casing warranty” on all its truck and bus tyres. Together they comprise the new “Cosmo Tires Warranty Suite”, the company states. In addition to adding more than 10 new sizes to its comprehensive road hazard programme, Cosmo also provides a mileage warranty of up to 45,000 miles on its RC-17 and El Jefe HT lines.

TGI appoints Wheeler to head North American sales team

US-based independent tyre wholesaler Tire Group International (TGI) has appointed Rick Wheeler its vice-president of National Sales. In his role, Wheeler is responsible for sales, marketing, and customer service teams for the North American market.

New car and truck ranges – Cosmo Tires coming to Europe

A second generation of Cosmo Tires passenger car and truck/bus tyres is on its way, and amongst this assortment of new products are tyres that will be launched in European markets. Visitors to The Tire Cologne will be amongst the first to see the new range; the range can be viewed during this month’s trade fair at Hall 8.1, Stand D065.

TGI celebrates 25 years of tyre wholesaling

It’s a silver jubilee year for Tire Group International. The US-based tyre wholesaler was set up by Antonio Gonzalez and Agustin Herran in 1992; TGI says the co-founders set out with a vision to build long term relationships though dedicated people and quality tyres. “Over the course of the last 25 years, TGI made that vision a reality and has developed one of the most diverse and far reaching distribution networks in the wholesale tyre business,” comments the wholesaler.

Tyres are not Tony Gonzalez’s sole passion. In addition to holding the positions of chief executive officer and chairman at US wholesaler Tire Group International (TGI), he has also built up a multimedia and artist management company, Rock The Moon Productions, LLC. Yesterday, the Film division of Rock The Moon Productions announced it has sold the rights to develop the film ‘The Corporation’ to Paramount Pictures in partnership with Appian Way Productions, the film company founded by Leonardo DiCaprio.

As of 1 April, Joaquin Gonzalez Jr. has taken on the role of president at US tyre wholesaler Tire Group International. Prior to his appointment to this new role, Gonzalez served as the company’s chief marketing officer. He joined TGI in 2006 as chief operating officer.
