The board of directors of the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) has re-elected Carlos Ghosn, chairman and CEO of Renault, as its President for 2015.
Speaking after his re-election, Ghosn said: “I am honoured that my colleagues on the Board have shown their continued confidence in me. 2014 is set to mark the first year of sales growth in the EU industry since 2007. Next year we will continue to push for a political environment that will help us sustain this growth.”

Maxion Wheels reports that it will supply Renault with more than a million VersaStyle wheels for the vehicle maker’s Megane, Megane Scenic, Clio and the Dacia Logan and Dacia Sandero Stepway models during the course of 2014. The company has already sold a million VersaStyle wheels in total this year, and more than 15 million units since VersaStyle wheels were first introduced in 2005.
Michelin will provide Renault Sport with a new 18-inch Pilot Sport S9L tyre for new Renault Sport RS 01 as part of its association with the World Series by Renault (WSR). Based on Michelin’s so-called ‘customer competition’ range, the tyre will also be available for all GT3 competitors from 2015.

The Renault Retail Group has extended its online aftersales service, mandating online tyre purchasing across its 19 outlets. PFC Brakes has been chosen as official brake supplier to Renault Sport Technologies for its new Clio RS R3T rally car. The company’s pads, discs and calipers incorporate innovations, such as piston cap insulators, which reduce temperature transfer to the brake fluid by as much as 55˚C, minimising the risk of boiling the fluid. This should help the brakes to deliver better performance on tarmac and gravel while adhering to stringent cost and technical requirements set for the category.
