A photo snapped of Prince Charles visiting the Pirelli tyre plant in Carlisle has been named Regional/Local Newspaper Rota Photo of the Year in News Media Association’s Royal Rota Photography Competition 2019. Stuart Walker took the photo for the News & Star during the Prince of Wales’ visit to the Carlisle factory in April.
The Pirelli tyre plant in Carlisle hosted a royal guest today to mark its 50th year of operation. His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales was welcomed at the plant by Marco Tronchetti Provera, chief executive officer and executive vice-chairman of Pirelli, along with Andrew Mitchell, HM Trade Commissioner for Europe, and Raffaele Trombetta, Italy’s Ambassador to the UK, senior Pirelli management and many employees.
Pirelli has announced that His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales is to visit its manufacturing facility in Carlisle. The royal visit to Pirelli, scheduled for Monday 8 April, will mark Pirelli’s 50th year of operation at the site.
