Point S Tyre & Autocare has appointed Jon Taylor as UK and European training manager. Taylor will now create a new Training Academy for Point S tyre dealer and maintenance networks across Europe.
Maidstone independent tyre dealer Tyrepoint has joined the Michelin Quality Centre network. The family-run business was founded less than four years ago by father and son team Karl and Mark Webber. The joint managing directors have strong industry experience; Karl established his first dealership in 1978. Tyrepoint has built its customer base by offering premium service supported by online reviews and social media marketing. Martin Thompson, Michelin’s AGB brand manager UK & Ireland said, “we’re delighted to give them our seal of approval.”
Following on from openings in mainland China and Singapore earlier in 2022, the Point S master franchisees in Hong Kong and mainland China have opened more Point S locations.
Having joined the company in August 2021, Point S Tyre & Autocare has appointed Tony Valentine as fleet manager. Up till now, Valentine has been a business development manager for the network. From here on he takes responsibility for establishing and growing Point S’ presence in the fleet market. This will involve building close relationships with fleet managers and working closely with Point S members to develop “the network’s one-stop shop for fleet service, repair and maintenance”.
With the launch of its latest cold weather passenger car tyre for Central and Western Europe, Point S continues the ‘what it says on the tin’ naming format we saw at the launch of its summer range last year. Simply called Winter, the new line replaces the Winterstar 4.

Point S, the international independent tyre dealer and car maintenance network, has announced positive results of third-party testing of its Summer tyre. The tests, which examined the safety, quality and performance of the product, were conducted by independent technical testing organisation, TÜV SÜD, which is internationally renowned for its impartial insight into the quality of products and brands.
More than two years after the company first announced it was renewing its efforts to grow its tyre retail business in China, Point S is celebrating the opening of two more centres in the People’s Republic.
