Pirelli has developed a customised version of the Diablo Supercorsa SP to meet a new challenging performance target. The tyre will be the original fitment on the most powerful and technologically advanced production Ducati ever, the Superleggera V4. The tyre is designed to help riders get the most out of the significant aerodynamic load generated by the bike’s biplane wings, which characterise the aggressive design of the new motorcycle.
The third generation Diablo Supercorsa SP is coming, and the new Pirelli race replica tyre has already been approved as original equipment on the latest from Ducati. The new Panigale V4 is the very first motorcycle to come factory-fitted with the tyre, and will receive the Diablo Supercorsa SP in size — 120/70 ZR17 on the front and 200/60 ZR17 on the rear.
Pirelli has announced its finalised line-up of tyres for the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship. In the Superbike class, all riders will use 17” Pirelli Diablo Superbike tyres, while the Supersport, Superstock 1000 Fim Cup, and European Junior Cup will ride on the treaded Diablo Supercorsa SC range.
Pirelli’s Diablo Supercorsa SP will be fitted to the new Ducati 1299 Panigale, 1299 Panigale S and Panigale R as original equipment in 120/70 ZR17 (front) and 200/55 ZR17 (rear). The Italian tyre manufacturer says the tyre represents technologies developed as a result of Pirelli’s racing experience and heritage as sole supplier of the World Superbike Championship since 2004. The latest fitments are the latest in a series of OE deals with Ducati and other marques.
