Mitas will present the latest Very High Flexion (VF) tyres in its Agriterra 02 Soil Protector (SP), HC 3000 R, HC 2000, and HC 1000 Narrow Rim Option (NRO) ranges at the upcoming Agritechnica 2023 exhibition, which will take place in Hannover, Germany from 12 to 18 November. The Yokohama TWS brand will also display tyres from its HC 3000 R, HC 1000 NRO, and HC 2000 lines.
Mitas has introduced two additional sizes into its HC 1000 range of Very High Flexion (VF) tyres for sprayer applications. The newcomers are NRO (Narrow Rim Option) dimensions designed for the next generation of self-propelled agricultural sprayers, VF 650/65R38 and VF 750/60R46. Mitas says both are made to handle high load capacities and operating speeds.
Trelleborg Group has made a new addition to the Mitas HC (High Capacity) radial tyre portfolio with the introduction of the HC 3000 R. Boasting the largest-ever tyre in the Mitas HC range – the VF 1000/65R32 CFO – the HC 3000 R tyre features Very High Flexion technology and rounded shoulder sections, denoted by the ‘R’ in its name.
The world premiere of the latest Mitas agricultural tyre, the metre-wide 1000/50 R 25 SFT, will take place at the SIMA show in Paris later this month. The tyre is designed for use on high-horsepower agricultural machinery such as potato harvesters and self-propelled spreaders, and offers flexibility when it comes to load and inflation pressure.
A new app from Mitas aims to help farmers easily find the correct pressure for their tyres when using them in the field and on the road. Versions of the app are available for Android, iOS and Windows devices and can be downloaded at https://www.mitas-info.com/ . To obtain a tyre pressure recommendation, users only need to select the appropriate tyre size, set up speed and cargo weight.
Mitas, part of Trelleborg Group, is to release the largest tyre in its High Capacity Municipal (HCM) range, 540/80R38 HCM. This fifth size will be displayed at the EIMA fair at Mitas stand A1 in Hall 14. Pavel Kott, product manager for Mitas agricultural tyres, said: “Mitas entered the municipal tyres segment last year. The success of the HCM range gave us a strong signal to continue development and broaden the offer of tyre sizes.”
Mitas high-horsepower tyres helped a Claas Axos 320 tractor weighing four tons to “walk on water”. Thanks to careful calculation and Archimedes’ principle, the tractor successfully navigated the port and then returned to dry land without the captain getting his feet wet. Mitas, part of Trelleborg Group, and its partners carried out the unusual stunt in the Netherlands. One of the world’s largest agricultural tyres, Mitas1250/50R32 SFT, was fitted on the rear axle and Mitas 750/55R30 SFT on the front axle of the floating Claas tractor.
The Mitas range of very high flexion, or VF tyres has been enlarged through the introduction of the HC 3000 in size 710/70R42. The harvester tyre was released in the market last month and offers the advantages of higher maximum load capacity and lower inflation pressure during cycling field operation than standard tyres.
Following on from the development of 18 and 38-inch versions of its PneuTrac, Mitas has now produced a 28-version of the tyre/track hybrid tyre technology it is working on. This week the new size is on display at the SIMA agri business fair in Paris. The tyre maker has mounted the 480/65 R28 PneuTrac on the front axle of a Case IH Maxxum tractor, paired with a size 600/65 R38 PneuTrac; this can be viewed in Hall 3, on stand E016. The previously-released PneuTrac 280/70 R18 and 600/65 R38 are currently undergoing intensive dynamic tests.
The Mitas flotation radial portfolio is set to quadruple in size with the addition of nine new products. These further Agriterra 02 and Agriterra 03 flotation tyre fitment will be available as of March 2015.
The latest additions to the Mitas Very High Flexion (VF) agricultural tyre range are set to debut at the SIMA trade fair in Paris later this month. The tyre maker will present two new sizes in its HC 2000 line for high horsepower tractors, namely VF 600/70R30 and VF 710/70R42 fitments. A further introduction in March – size VF 380/105R54 – will add a fifth member to the HC 2000 family.
With Mitas Premium set to begin replacing the Continental brand name on agricultural tyres shipped to original equipment customers at the start of 2015, manufacturer Mitas has launched a key part of this line-up. The Czech Republic-based tyre maker has begun selling its Very High Flexion (VF) tyres – produced in its Otrokovice plant and in Charles City, Iowa (USA) – in global markets. For high-horsepower tractors, Mitas has released the VF 380/95R38 HC 2000 and VF 480/95R50 HC 2000. For sprayer applications Mitas has unveiled the VF 380/90R46 HC 1000. Further HC 2000 sizes, namely the VF 600/70R30 and VF 710/70R42, will follow shortly.
