Liqui Moly’s long-standing commercial director, Dr. Uli Weller, has been appointed joint managing director of the company, alongside Günter Hiermaier. Dr Weller will become the second managing director of the group of companies at the start of 2023.
Independent lubricants specialist Exol Lubricants has appointed two new joint operations managers to oversee activity at the company’s Rotherham plant.
Simon Clegg and Daniel Hector have over 40 years’ combined experience of the company and lubricants industry, with both men having already spent long periods of their respective careers with Exol.
German oil and additive manufacturer Liqui Moly has boosted its turnover to 733 million euro, an increase of 20 per cent compared to 2020. “This is much more than we expected in view of the difficult year,” says Managing Director Ernst Prost. “It shows what is possible, despite the adverse circumstances.”
Exol has begun work on the redevelopment of its Rotherham site, with the aim to complete the project in July 2021. This new development is part of Exol’s continued reinvestment strategy.
Upstream suppliers to the tyre manufacturing industry Nynas, Cabot and Evonik have received some of the top ratings in the 2021 EcoVadis auditing process. Specifically, these three firms all ranked in the top 1 per cent of their peers, earning platinum status. Meanwhile, carbon black supplier Birla Carbon received the EcoVadis’ gold accreditation.
Having exited US sanctions in May 2020, Nynas – which supplies oils to the tyre and rubber industries – has continued an eventful year by announcing significant ownership changes that put Bitumina in a commanding position amongst its shareholders.
The Parts Alliance has announced a long-term partnership with Petronas Lubricants International as its supplier of premium oil.
Swedish company Nynas is presenting its naphthenic tyre oils at Tire Technology Expo next month, and aims to convince customers and producers that tyres made with Nynas oils “provide low rolling resistance, reducing energy losses and fuel consumption, while maintaining wet grip for improved control on snow and ice.”
Liqui Moly is not only a well-known sponsor in the world of motor sports. When the engines fall silent for a time, the German oil and additive specialist gets involved in other sports.
