Nigel Morgan, managing director of Schaeffler’s Automotive Aftermarket division in the UK, has decided to step aside after more than 40 years continual service with the company. His retirement leaves some ‘rather large boots’ to fill at Schaeffler, so stepping up to the newly-created position of ‘country manager UK & Ireland’ will be Mark Dolloway, who joined Schaeffler from SKF in 2012. Dolloway will, in turn, be replaced as sales director by Matt Selby, who has been with the company since 2007.
VARTA has joined The Original Equipment Suppliers Aftermarket Association (OESAA) in the UK. Technical sales manager at VARTA, Andy Cook, has confirmed the new association with the organisation, saying: “Clarios, the Company behind the VARTA brand, is the largest battery manufacturer in the world, and that status naturally comes with longstanding and successful OE partnerships on a global basis, so joining OESSA makes perfect sense for us. Our new membership will help us support the independent garage further, especially in the area of new technology, where we have battery expertise on features like start-stop, where 8 out of 10 start-stop cars fitted with an AGM technology battery, is one of ours.”
Schaeffler has postponed the Repxpert Academy LIVE event planned for June 20th at Blackpool & The Fylde College. “The current restrictions on social distancing and mass gatherings mean that we have had to put all Repxpert Academy LIVE events on hold for now, so we are looking at other ways to help garages get ‘back on track’” explained Schaeffler Training Manager, Alistair Mason.
Schaeffler states that there has been a surge in sign-ups for the inaugural Repxpert Academy LIVE training day. The new ‘roadshow’ training concept, which is a joint venture with the IMI, will be held at approved college venues across the UK, with the first event taking place at Lincoln College on Saturday 16 November.
Repxpert members have the chance to register as VIP guests of Schaeffler at Automechanika Birmingham 2019 when the three-day exhibition gets underway at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) on 4 June. Repxpert members can now sign-up online to receive outstanding hospitality from Schaeffler, which includes lunch, a premium Repxpert messenger bag full of workshop goodies, including a ‘magnaband’ wrist magnet, sports bottle, leaflet, pen and Repxpert bonus points – plus all the benefits of Automechanika’s ‘Big UK Garage Event’ – all free-of-charge.
This April, Autoinform LIVE will be returning north of the border, this time to Glasgow’s GTG Academy, bringing the UK’s biggest and best automotive training event back to garage owners and technicians in Scotland and the north of England.
The Original Equipment Suppliers Aftermarket Association (OESAA) has delivered its latest Autoinform Live workshop training event. Held at the GTG Academy in Wolverhampton last weekend, more than 200 industry professionals attended the UK’s biggest workshop training event, with sessions delivered by OE suppliers and well-respected industry figures.
The recent 2016 Autoinform Live show was responsible for raising an impressive £1,800 for automotive industry charity BEN during its glitzy evening gala dinner. With raffle tickets on sale throughout the first day of the show, 500 guests joined the show’s OESAA organisers for Saturday’s evening event which took place at the Molineux Stadium, home of Wolverhampton Wanderers FC.
With over 400 tickets already sold, the Original Equipment Suppliers Aftermarket Association (OESAA) is urging those interested in attending this year’s Autoinform Live to book now to avoid disappointment.
