Camso to open new track manufacturing plant

A new track manufacturing plant is being set up in the USA to meet growing demand from agricultural and construction segment customers for Camso’s tracks and track systems. The 139,000 square foot (12,900 square metre) facility, located in Junction City, Kansas, is expected to open in January 2020. The increase in production capacity that will accompany the plant’s opening will enable Camso to shorten its delivery lead times.

Continental begins equipping new Thailand tyre plant

It’s only been four months since the foundation stone for Continental’s new tyre factory in Rayong, Thailand was laid, yet good progress has already been made. On 15 March the first machine was installed within the plant, an occasion celebrated by some 180 guests, Thai officials, as well as Continental management and representatives from the local project team, suppliers and dealers.

Maxxis opens tyre factory in India

The Maxxis Group has officially inaugurated its first plant in India. The Maxxis Rubber India facility in Ahmedabad, Gujarat state, was set up with an investment of approximately US$400 million and specialises in the production of tyres and tubes for two-wheel vehicles. Production at the site began half a year ago with an initial daily capacity of 20,000 tyres and 40,000 tubes.

Groundbreaking held for Maxion Wheels’ India plant

At an event held yesterday, groundbreaking took place for the future Maxion Wheels facility in India. Invited guests, including suppliers, customers, local officials and company management, were present to witness the ceremonial turning of the first sod and unveiling of a plaque to mark the occasion.

Sri Lankan president attends GRI factory opening reception

Apollo Tyres lays foundation stone for 7th factory

After opening its new European factory last year, Apollo Tyres is now focusing on expanding its manufacturing footprint at home. A ceremony was held today to lay the foundation stone of the tyre maker’s fifth plant in India and seventh facility worldwide. The new factory is located in Chinnapanduru, Andhra Pradesh state, and is expected to enter operation in mid-2020. Apollo Tyres is investing close to Rs 18 billion (£209.4 million) in the first phase of the new plant project.

Magna Tyres to begin European manufacture

Production of Magna tyres will soon begin in Europe. In January, the Magna Tyres Group will officially open its own facility in the Netherlands. A factory has been set up at the Hardenberg site operated by Obo Tyres, the retreader acquired by Magna Tyres Group in late 2016. The company states that from January, the Netherlands will host the manufacture certain products in the Magna range.

Triangle Tyre selects site for USA factory project

An announcement made yesterday confirms Kingsboro (Edgecombe County), North Carolina as the site for the new Triangle Tyre Co., Ltd. plant in the United States. Sharing news of the project, North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper stated that Triangle intends to invest nearly US$580 million in the area.

Triangle Tyre publishes details of USA car, truck tyre factory plans

In disclosures to the Shanghai Stock Exchange, Triangle Tyre Co., Ltd. reports its intention to invest US$580 million in what the company calls its “America Factory Project”. The investment will cover the cost of erecting facilities for producing both passenger car and commercial vehicle tyres.

Official opening for Hankook’s US tyre plant

A grand opening ceremony has been held for Hankook Tire’s newest plant. The facility, located in Clarksville, Tennessee, is the tyre maker’s first manufacturing site in the United States and the eighth Hankook Tire factory worldwide. The opening ceremony was attended by Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam, United States Representative Marsha Blackburn, Korean Consul General Seong-jin Kim, along with many other prominent state and local officials.

Giti Tire: Newly-commissioned factory supplying demand for ‘made in America’ tyres

Production at Giti Tire’s newest factory began in September, and yesterday the tyre maker welcomed two parties who played a role in bringing the US$560 million plant to the USA. Henry McMaster, Governor of South Carolina, and Greg Foran, president and chief executive officer of Walmart US, toured the 1.7 million square foot facility in Richburg, South Carolina and celebrated its inauguration.

Wanli Tire to spend $1 billion on US plant
