The National Motorcycle Dealers Association (NMDA) which represents motorcycle retailers across the UK, is expecting 2018 to be a challenging year for the motorcycle industry. NMDA Autumn 2016 Dealer Attitude Survey

UK News

The National Motorcycle Dealers Association (NMDA) has revealed the results of its Autumn 2016 Dealer Attitude Survey. Stephen Latham, head of the NMDA said that he was “pleased to see that this year’s survey received a response rate of 33 per cent. Over the last few years there has been a view that brands with a low percentage of dealer responses have not necessarily been representative of the views of that network, and could skew the results either way. Therefore, in this survey, we have decided to suppress the results of three brands that had less than 15 per cent of their dealers completing the survey.”

Shortage of product contributes to modest increase in motorcycle sales – NMDA

Market Info, Product News, UK News

High expectations of growth in motorcycle sales for March 2016 were tempered somewhat by low product supply. While the market started strongly this year, overall growth was only 1.6 per cent compared with March 2015. “Following a strong start to 2016, the NMDA had high expectations that March would follow suit on the back of the new 16-plate change, however the market was up by only 230 bikes compared to March 2015 – marking an overall growth of just 1.4 per cent”, said Stephen Latham, head of the National Motorcycle Dealers Association (NMDA) which represents motorcycle retailers across the UK.
