Mobox: Bridgestone aims to grow car subscriptions twentyfold

The mobox all-inclusive monthly tyre subscription service debuted in the UK in 2020, several years after Bridgestone first piloted the model in France. Bridgestone now intends to increase the global number of mobox subscription contracts twentyfold (compared to 2019) by 2023. While additional subscriptions in Europe will aid this expansion, the company will primarily achieve growth by rolling out the European mobox model in the USA and Japan.

Bridgestone uses GoCardless for Mobox tyre subscription system in the UK

Bridgestone will be using GoCardless to facilitate the recurring payment function necessary for its Mobox tyre subscription service. Already available in France, Germany, Italy and Spain, Mobox customers in the UK can pay via GoCardless for a “frictionless payment experience.” Furthermore, because of the end-to-end integration of the GoCardless API, Bridgestone will have access to real-time information on the status of mandates and payments – in turn, reducing costs and time spent on administration.

DriveRightData partners with Bridgestone on Mobox project

DriveRightData is partnering with Bridgestone, providing tyre identification and product matching capabilities data for the tyre manufacturer’s recently-launched Mobox monthly tyre and car maintenance subscription service. DriveRightData information supplied includes brand name, product name, description, tyre and tread images, tyre size, pressure, rim size, load and speed index, run-flat capability, EU required labelling information and barcodes.

Bridgestone and ETB launch Mobox tyre subscription in the UK

Bridgestone and ETB Autocentres have introduced the Mobox all-inclusive monthly tyre subscription service in the UK. First piloted in 25 First Stop stores across France in October 2017, Mobox has now been expanded to 30 Speedy shops in France and 20 First Stop stores in Spain since June 2018. The programme was rolled out in other European nations in 2019 and now makes its UK debut.

Bridgestone buying Tomtom Telematics for 910 million euros

Bridgestone Europe NV/SA, the Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA) subsidiary of Bridgestone Corporation, has entered into an agreement with TomTom to acquire its telematics business for a cash consideration of 910 million euros. Michelin had also been named as a suitor for the business when the news that TomTom Telematics was for sale emerged in November 2018.

Mobox: Flat rate tyre subscriptions a la Bridgestone

Bridgestone has introduced an all-inclusive monthly subscription service for tyres called Mobox. According to the company, Mobox subscription offers “new tyres, full warranty and other premium vehicle-related services, and all at an affordable price per month”.
