Mitas expands Terra Force-R and E-10 ranges

Two new sizes have joined the Mitas Terra Force-R and E-10 ranges. Commenting on these additions, Ksenija Bitenc, director of Mitas’ motorcycle tyre and tube product area, said: “Our aim is to strengthen Mitas in the adventure segment by offering riders complete range of tyre sizes. The extension of Terra Force-R and E-10 tread patterns demonstrates our strategy.”

Mitas introducing 5 more Terra Force-R sizes

From next month, the Mitas Terra Force-R range will grow by a further five sizes. Commenting on the upcoming new additions, the Trelleborg Group company’s director of motorcycle tyre and tube products says that by extending the range to include a V speed rated 90/90-21 tyre size, riders “will get a perfect set for a combination of 90/90-21 54V for front wheels and 150/70R17 69V for rear wheels.”

Mitas launching metre-wide SFT tyre at SIMA

The world premiere of the latest Mitas agricultural tyre, the metre-wide 1000/50 R 25 SFT, will take place at the SIMA show in Paris later this month. The tyre is designed for use on high-horsepower agricultural machinery such as potato harvesters and self-propelled spreaders, and offers flexibility when it comes to load and inflation pressure.

Mitas playing an important role within TWS

Last June, Sweden’s Trelleborg AB finalised its acquisition of Mitas parent company CGS Holding. At the time, Trelleborg chief executive officer and president Peter Nilsson stated the intention to integrate Mitas into the Trelleborg Wheel Systems business unit. Mitas releases agri tyre pressure app

Product News

A new app from Mitas aims to help farmers easily find the correct pressure for their tyres when using them in the field and on the road. Versions of the app are available for Android, iOS and Windows devices and can be downloaded at https://www.mitas-info.com/ . To obtain a tyre pressure recommendation, users only need to select the appropriate tyre size, set up speed and cargo weight.

5% price increase for Mitas agricultural tyres

Mitas, part of the Trelleborg Group, has announced a five per cent increase in agricultural tyre prices in Europe. The new prices, which will affect both Mitas and Cultor brand agricultural and light agricultural application tyres, will come into effect on 1 February, 2017. The manufacturer said the rise is “driven by the recent increase in raw material prices.”

Mitas to expand municipal tyre range, release largest HCM size

Mitas, part of Trelleborg Group, is to release the largest tyre in its High Capacity Municipal (HCM) range, 540/80R38 HCM. This fifth size will be displayed at the EIMA fair at Mitas stand A1 in Hall 14. Pavel Kott, product manager for Mitas agricultural tyres, said: “Mitas entered the municipal tyres segment last year. The success of the HCM range gave us a strong signal to continue development and broaden the offer of tyre sizes.”

Mitas tyres help Claas tractor ‘walk on water’

Mitas high-horsepower tyres helped a Claas Axos 320 tractor weighing four tons to “walk on water”. Thanks to careful calculation and Archimedes’ principle, the tractor successfully navigated the port and then returned to dry land without the captain getting his feet wet. Mitas, part of Trelleborg Group, and its partners carried out the unusual stunt in the Netherlands. One of the world’s largest agricultural tyres, Mitas1250/50R32 SFT, was fitted on the rear axle and Mitas 750/55R30 SFT on the front axle of the floating Claas tractor.

Oktoberfest: Beer and Mitas tyres

Every four years the Bavarian farmers association holds its ‘Central Agricultural Festival’ at the Theresienwiese in Munich, alongside the world-famous Oktoberfest beer fair. This year is a festival year, and the week-long show will begin on 17 September, the day on which Munich’s mayor taps the first Oktoberfest barrel. Tyre maker Mitas, now a member of the Trelleborg group, will exhibit at the Central Agricultural Festival and says it will use the show as an opportunity to inform visitors “about the newest tyre developments within the Mitas and Cultor brands.”

Mitas EMR-01 helps wheel loaders stay on 25-inch rims

Switching over to a larger wheel rim for agricultural applications is unnecessary when fitting the new Mitas EMR-01. The manufacturer specifically designed the size 20.5R25 tyre for wheel loaders used in farming and gave it a tread similar to that of a tractor tyre. The Trelleborg Group company comments that this tread offers superb self-cleaning properties and outstanding traction.

Continental returning to agricultural radial production in 2017

Over a number of years, Czech tyre maker Mitas a.s. has distanced itself in steps from the Continental brand it’s produced under licence since 2004. Three years ago the company announced an extension of this licence until 2019, however recent events have spurred Continental AG to reclaim its agricultural tyre brand ahead of this date. Continental has now announced a €49.9 million investment in its own agricultural tyre business, and the company will begin producing agricultural radials next year.
