Kerr’s Tyres & Auto, one of Northern Ireland’s leading suppliers of tyres and automotive services, has secured a half-million pound loan from Ulster Bank to support it through the coronavirus crisis. It has been delivered through the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CBILS).
Northern Ireland’s Kerr’s Tyres & Auto is investing£2.5 million in a new company HQ, featuring a distribution centre and retail centres. According to the company, the expansion project will create 20 jobs, bringing the total number of employees in the company to over 100.
Northern Ireland-based Kerr’s Tyres & Auto has acquired M & S Tyres in Enniskillen for an undisclosed sum. According to the company, the acquisition will further strengthen Kerr’s Tyres’ regional coverage. Kerr’s have retained the current staff and are recruiting further so customer service in the region can be maintained and further services introduced.
Bandvulc has awarded Kerr’s Tyres & Auto exclusivity for its product range in Northern Ireland. This follows on from Kerr’s appointment at the beginning of 2017 as the sole supplier of Uniroyal TBR (truck tyres) for this region.
Kerr’s Tyres is to supply, fit and maintain all tyres for Hannon Transport’s fleet of over 300 units and trailers. Hannon is one of Ireland’s leading refrigerated haulage companys dealing with the transportation of cut flowers, plants, fruit, vegetables, meat and dairy from mainland Europe across the UK and Ireland.
The three-year deal, with an option to extend for a further three years, will reportedly focus on the supply, fit and maintenance of fuel efficiency tyres designed to reduce fuel costs and the number of breakdowns over the life of the contract.
Kerr’s Tyres has announced it is investing in 14 new jobs across the chain’s Antrim, Belfast, Coleraine and forthcoming Newtownards tyre centres following an investment of more than £1,000,000 in the business. The jobs will range from tyre fitters, breakdown fitters, mechanics, mobile mechanics, apprentices, IT personnel and assistant managers.
Point S Development and Point S UK are celebrating the addition of Kerr’s Tyres to their network. Based in Northern Ireland, Kerr’s tyres is the first tyre retailer from the country to join the network and becomes the 200th Point S UK outlet.
Northern Ireland tyre distributor Kerr’s Tyres has announced a new three year PPK deal with grocer Henderson Group. The deal will see Kerr’s Tyres supply, fit and maintain all Henderson tyres. The Group owns the Spar, Eurospar, Vivo and Vivoxtra franchises in Northern Ireland.
