Jonathan Layton has taken on a new role at Michelin. As of this month, the former national fleet sales manager has been appointed national sales manager, UK and Republic of Ireland, for Michelin’s Services & Solutions business line.

For its 2017 all-season tyre test, Auto Bild decided to do something different. Throwing out the standard format of pitting a number of factory-fresh tyres against each other, the German car magazine decided to additionally evaluate how the tyres performed when half and almost completely worn. Test results were published in issue 47/2017 of Auto Bild, and were very good news for Michelin.

All UK ambulance services fit Michelin tyres as ‘1st choice’

Each of the UK’s public sector ambulance services fits Michelin tyres on a first-choice policy. The 10 services in England have signed a first-choice policy, alongside those of Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, each agreed under the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) Supply and Fit Tyres framework. Michelin states that its products provide “long lasting performance and maximum safety,” while “helping to deliver better value for the taxpayer.”

Michelin appoints Jonathan Layton head of fleet

Michelin has appointed Jonathan Layton, 45, as national sales manager fleet, UK and Republic of Ireland. A veteran Michelin man, Layton assumes the role after more than 15 years at the company. Layton will manage the company’s team of key account managers, ensuring a high quality of service across its car and van fleet customers.
