Tyre Industry Award winners 2016

The Tyre Industry Awards have been presented for 2016 during the sold-out NTDA Annual Dinner, this year hosted by the Vox Conference Centre on the site of Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre. In addition to the various gongs, the NTDA presented Sir Tom Farmer with the National Chairman’s Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Tyre Industry, sponsored by Hankook UK, while Brian Funnell and Lennie Wells were also made NTDA Honorary Life Members. Presented by television personality Suzi Perry, the winners were decided by a panel of leading industry judges, and the results live-tweeted by Tyrepress via its Twitter feed.

Infinity Tyres announces new European sales team and office

Infinity Tyres, part of the Al Dobowi Group, has announced two new appointments in European leadership positions. Mitchell Peeters and Riccardo Costa, formerly of Goodyear, have joined the company in the roles of executive director and general manager Europe respectively, operating out of a new European sales office, based in Madrid, Spain.

Infinity questions ADAC test’s winter tyre selection

Infinity Tyres Europe has questioned a recent ADAC winter tyre test’s selection of its INF049 – a tyre the company says is no longer in production. The tyre was evaluated as part of the 2014 ADAC winter tyre test, and while the manufacturer does not wish to question the German organisation’s testing parameters, it criticises the selection process that led to its INF049 tyre being tested. Infinity says the tyre was “only available to purchase in 2013.”

Infinity to launch performance SUV, studded winter tyres at Reifen 2014

Infinity Tyres has announced that its Reifen 2014 stand will feature four new passenger car tyres, including an SUV tyre in high performance sizes and a studded winter tyre. The new tyres will join the Ecomax and Ecosis PCR tyres launched in 2013 as products focused on the performance characteristics demanded on the European market. Infinity will display all of its products on Stand 3C10 at Messe Essen.

Pon Tyre Group has appointed Frits de Raad as managing director of Euro-Tyre. He will take up the position on 22 April 2014. De Raad succeeds Frank van Leeuwen, who has decided to pursue his career outside the Group, Pon stated.

Shandong Linglong manufactured Infinity Tyres offer both light and heavy radial truck tyres, with 15 dimensions available for the former, and a heavy truck radial range featuring over 20 patterns in 40 dimensions.

Infinity to exhibit new tyres at Autopromotec

Infinity Tyres has confirmed its participation at this year’s Autopromotec in Bologna, where it plans to stage the official launch of its Ecopioneer, Enviro, and Ecovantage tyres. All three tyres, which have fitments for small city cars, SUVs and light commercial vehicles respectively were previewed previously at Pneu Expo in Lyon and Madrid’s Motortec Automechanika Ibérica. They will come to market in summer 2013.

Infinity to add to INF 200 in 4×4 range

Infinity Tyres says it will seek to extend its 4×4 range to provide 18-20” fitments in summer 2013. Currently the brand offers the versatile INF 200 all-terrain tread pattern, which features large shoulder blocks with optimised sipe positioning to increase wet handling. The tyre is currently available in 15-17” dimensions.

Infinity launches agricultural tyre range

Having recently introduced an agricultural radial tyre range, Infinity Tyres reports that the latest addition to its widening portfolio incorporates tyres suited for the latest advancements for modern agricultural machinery. Infinity agricultural tyres are already available in the UK market and the company formally announced that the tyres can be purchased from Somerset-based Europa Tyres.
