Agricultural and industrial tyre specialists manufacturer BKT launched the new Liftmax LM 63 on 14 May 2020. The tyremaker describes its later offering as “a perfect mix of resistance, stability, and comfort.” Meanwhile, BKT will soon release a range of new sizes for its Liftmax LM 81 and Container King tyres.
The new Galaxy Mighty Trac ND is a freshly-developed L-4 tyre for skid steer loaders, which is designed to equally excel “on hard surfaces like roads or paved farm yards as well as sticky mud, loose sand, or snow”. The Galaxy Mighty Trac ND is available in sizes 10-16.5NHS and 12-16.5NHS. A 14-17.5NHS variant is currently under development.
The new Marangoni Marix M-Port retreaded port tyre is designed to be fitted on “all the articulated positions of both the truck and trailer axles used in port operations”. The new M-Port features a bi-directional tread with a deep pattern and reinforced shoulders in order to withstand impacts and lateral friction.

A farmer in Northern Ireland has become the first person in Northern Ireland to put Michelin’s X Tweel SSL airless tyre and wheel combination into operation. The president of Sri Lanka His Excellency Gotabaya Rajapaksa has appointed Prabhash Subasinghe, managing director of GRI, to the Presidential Task Force for Economic Revival and Poverty Alleviation. The task force exists because Sri Lanka’s government has identified the need to create balanced social and economic development in the country, aligned with expectations by the United Nations such as environmental conservation, renewable energy and toxin-free food production, as well as the need to minimize poverty.

Trelleborg Wheel Systems reports that it has moved to general remote working in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Writing in a letter to customers sent by email, the company affirmed that employees will still be available by phone and email and that “availability of agricultural tyres is still assured”.
Magna Tyres Group has appointed Elie Sleiman General Manager of its Singapore office, effective 1 March. Sleiman will lead sales within the Oceania & South East Asia region and has responsibility for extending the Magna brand presence, distribution network, and will focus on developing strong customer relationships.
Petlas has released a new industrial tyre that focuses on traction and life time. According to the company, the PtxND33 is designed and developed at Petlas’s R&D base to offer “perfect traction and long life for compact industrial vehicles such as compact loaders, backhoe loaders and telehandlers”.
Sri Lanka’s Global Rubber Industries (GRI Tires) has acquired Australian tyre supplier Tradefaire International’s industrial tyre business, Axis Tyres Pty Ltd. The acquisition includes Axis locations in Melbourne (Altona and Braeside), Sydney and Adelaide. Together with GRI’s existing branch in Brisbane, the company now operates five sites in Australia.
Camso has launched the Solideal PON 555 NM and PON 550 NM, two new non-marking additions to the Solideal PON series. These new and improved non-marking press-on tyres were developed to deliver increased energy efficiency and thermal performance.
