Test centre Horiba MIRA has fully converted its facilities into ‘COVID-Secure’ operations in three weeks. On 13 April the company suspended most physical operations at its expansive 850-acre site in Nuneaton and a further facility in Basildon, but safely welcomed the first wave of furloughed employees back to both sites by 4 May, well ahead of the UK government guidelines issued this week.
Horiba Europe GmbH has successfully completed the acquisition of FuelCon AG. FuelCon – now to be called Horiba FuelCon – has become part of Horiba Automotive Test Systems – a leading supplier in the fields of engine, driveline, brake and emissions test systems.
On 21 October Horiba Mira played host to the UK’s first collaborative trials of connected and autonomous vehicles. The £20 million research and development project, known as UK Autodrive, brought together Jaguar Land Rover, Ford and Tata Motors European Technical Centre (TMETC) to jointly demonstrate a number of future vehicle technologies at Horiba Mira’s Proving Ground in Nuneaton.
