MWheels promotes Mardle to CEO

MWheels has promoted Matthew Mardle to chief executive officer (CEO), a role in which he takes responsibility for financial results and all day-to-day operations of the business. John Ellis, who originally founded the business over 30 year ago, takes the role of chairman, having been chief executive, and continues to be involved in the company’s leadership function.

AEZ introduces Forged Series

With the AEZ Forged Series, Alcar says its AEZ brand has “entered the premium class of light alloy wheels.” The first Forged Series model to be released is the AEZ Steam.forged, a wheel designed exclusively with the Tesla S and X in mind. The Steam.forged is ECE approved – a first for an AEZ forged alloy rim – and 100 per cent TPMS compatible.

RTN Clayton Vallely takes delivery of 500th Xlite forged aluminium wheel

RTN Clayton Vallely, manufacturer of specialist tankers for the environmental, food and chemical industries, has taken delivery of its 500th Xlite forged aluminium wheel from exclusive European distributor, MWheels.

The Barnsley-based company, whose clients include Yorkshire Water, McVitie’s and Redway European, has specified the market leading forged aluminium wheels on orders since March 2014, primarily as fitted units with tyres from Bridgestone, Goodyear and Dunlop.

MWSD brings latest Xbrite+ forged aluminium wheels to European market

The European market distributor of Wheels India’s forged aluminium wheels, Motor Wheel Service Distribution (MWSD) has launched the next generation Xbrite+. The new product has benefitted from Wheels India’s upgraded multi-million pound production facility; in the advanced production process a polished Xlite forged aluminium wheel goes through several automated treatment stages to permeate the metal deeper.

APP-Tech now a Ronal Group company

The Ronal Group has announced its acquisition of Italian firm APP-Tech Srl at the end of last year and says this will help it meet growing customer demand for forged wheels. APP-Tech specialises in these products and sells the rims manufactured at its plant near Padua in northern Italy to vehicle manufacturers, high end aftermarket suppliers and motorsport teams. The company will continue to operate on an independent basis under the management of Francesca De Boni, and all APP-Tech staff will remain in employment.

New Speedline megatrailer forged truck wheel to make world debut at NUFAM 2015

Alcoa doubles Hungary truck wheel production

Alcoa, the global leader in forged aluminium wheel technology, has announced plan to invest US$13 million expanding its wheel manufacturing plant in Europe. According to the company, this means doubling production of its increasing popular lightweight, durable, low-maintenance aluminium truck wheels. Work is expected to be completed by early 2015

Alcoa and SAF-Holland Develop Flangeless Wheel

Alcoa and SAF-Holland have announced that they are working together to develop a new trailer wheel which can be mounted without a separate hub flange. The lightweight forged wheel weighs in at just 28.5 kilos and its size is 22.5 x 11.75. Maximum load per wheel comes in at 4500 kilos. The offset is 60 mm and the disc thickness is 35 mm.
