Leeds-based logistics and delivery service provider ASB Delivery Services says its strategic partnership with RAM Tracking has yielded significant cost and efficiency savings. The company has implemented RAM Tracking’s advanced fleet management solutions over the past nine years, transforming its fleet of 28 vans in the process.
SIXT van & truck has signed a strategic partnership with connected transportation solutions, Geotab. The companies want to enhance SIXT van & truck’s fleet management capabilities and elevate customer service standards in the UK. SIXT van & truck will incorporate Geotab’s telematics solutions in its nationwide UK fleet over the next 12 months. The company said it will leverage Geotab’s original equipment manufacturer (OEM) integrated data to facilitate predictive maintenance and efficient service, maintenance and repair (SMR) operations. The partnership follows a successful pilot programme, during which SIXT recovered two stolen vehicles, demonstrating the value of Geotab’s telematics in security and operational competence.
Analyst Berg Insight has revealed that the European fleet management market is continuing a period of growth. In its latest report, Berg said the number of active fleet management systems is set to reach 27.6 million by 2028. Between 2023 and 2028, it projects that the installed base of OEM systems will grow at a CAGR of 22.4 per cent, while the penetration rate into the total population of non-proprietary commercial vehicles and passenger cars will grow from 23.9 per cent in 2023 to 38.5 per cent in 2028.
Webfleet, Bridgestone’s fleet management platform, has enhanced its CO₂ reporting tool by incorporating indirect emissions (Scope 2) alongside direct emissions (Scope 1). The tool now offers fleet operators more detailed options to track and report emissions using distance- and fuel-based calculation methods. Certified by verification body TÜV Rheinland, the CO₂ reporting tool enables consistent emissions tracking across vehicle types.
With a spin-off on the cards, Continental is pursuing a strategy of focusing on core strengths and streamlining business operations within its Automotive sector. As part of this focus, the company has sold its 2016-acquired fleet management business Zonar to GPS Trackit, an industry pioneer in cloud-based, IoT fleet solutions and GPS fleet tracking. Neither Continental nor GPS Trackit’s parent, Philadelphia, USA-based buyout firm Inverness Graham, have disclosed the financial terms or other details of the transaction.

In addition to simulating the impact of VECTO, a feature carried over from the previous incarnation, the new version broadens its scope to cover additional factors that play a major role for the aftermarket, such as lowering operating costs and reducing fuel consumption. Translogik, a division of Transense Technologies plc, has formed a strategic distribution partnership with AssetFindr, headquartered in Jakarta, Indonesia with a customer base across Southeast Asia.
The collaboration opens a new sales region for Translogik, bringing its tyre inspection and data capture tools to market in Southeast Asia for the first time along with AssetFindr’s TyreOptimaX module.
Continental will work with with Samsara, a global telematics provider, to deliver comprehensive, data-driven fleet management solutions for truck trailers. Both companies will exchange data points to provide customers with access to a broad spectrum of trailer data, including in-tyre sensor data from Continental, such as tyre pressure and mileage.
Continental has rolled out an update for its TireTech App advice tool for fleet managers, drivers, retailers and workshops to achieve the best possible tyre performance and the greatest possible fleet efficiency. In the cost-driven day-to-day tyre business, this technical tool covers both correct tyre fitment and optimised pressure control. Now Conti has added extra functions to the app too.
Continental is extending the reach of its digital tyre management system with the latest version of its ContiConnect Lite app. Integrating tyres into the vehicle network via sensor technology and data transfer, the tyre manufacturer and technology solutions provider is using ContiConnect Lite to create a bridge between tyre sensors and professional tyre management. Continental is also extending the sensorisation of its commercial tyre products; since the end of 2023 it has been supplying its latest-generation of tyre sensors within all models in its Conti Urban city bus tyre range.

Microlise group company TruTac is supplying its intelligent fleet management software, TruFleet, to Witney based haulier Oxford Carriers. TruTac says it is Increasingly supporting customers in digitising their fleet operations, focusing on improving compliance and sharpening vehicle maintenance data.
Newport haulier Jaga Brothers says it has saved £35,000 in fuel costs across its fleet of 42 trucks and a further £5,600 in tyre replacements on its 130 trailers, following its partnership with Michelin Connected Fleet. The company added that its access to vehicle data analysis has helped its drivers to implement driving behaviour improvements, further affecting positively its cost savings. The company was already using an exclusively Michelin tyre policy before rolling out the Connected Fleet solutions that have yielded additional efficiencies. Jaga Brothers managing director, James Hill, says: “The Michelin Connected Fleet solutions have had a huge financial impact on our business. Our aim was for the service to start paying for itself in the first year and the figures so far have exceeded our expectations.”
Michelin has detailed the ways in which its Michelin Connected Fleet system has helped parent company Michelin cut harsh driving events by 25 per cent across the 54 vans operated by its Services and Solutions division in the UK. The company has achieved the savings after introducing the fleet management technologies it deploys for end-user fleets. In the initial six-month, technology is improving driver behaviour after reducing speeding events by 46 per cent, particularly in 30mph and 50mph zones, as well as cutting engine idling by 14 per cent. Over 12 months, the driving style changes are projected to help improve fuel efficiency by 5.8 per cent across the fleet, reducing CO2 emissions by 5.6 per cent per kilometre travelled.
Tyres fitted to electric vehicles (EVs) face a shortfall in longevity versus those fitted to petrol or diesel cars, new fleet data from epyx suggests. The first tyre change for electric cars is taking place at an average of 17,985 miles and 551 days old, compared to 24,641 miles and 585 days for hybrids, and 24,335 and 670 days for petrol and diesel cars. On average tyres fitted to EVs are lasting 6,350 fewer miles than equivalents on internal combustion engine (ICE) powered vehicles. The data is taken from epyx’s 1link Service Network platform. Car and van fleets totalling more than four million vehicles use 1link to manage and process SMR.
