Firestone has released its first all-season tyre for European light trucks. The Vanhawk Multiseason offers winter-ready, fuel efficient performance for year-round use in all weather conditions, Firestone adds. It targets increased business efficiency for small-medium sized fleet operations and private van drivers. With the launch of the Vanhawk Multiseason, the Bridgestone group now has a multi-tier offer for the all-season van segment. It launched the Bridgestone Duravis All Season, a first for its eponymous brand too, last week.
Firestone has launched its latest tyre for the adaptable applications required of the light commercial vehicle market, the Vanhawk 2. The Bridgestone brand states that the tyre has been developed to deliver handling, comfort and durability when tackling frequent short runs, longer hauls, stop-go deliveries and constant manoeuvring, day after day.
Not many tyre testing niches exist within AutoBild Group publications, and another one has now been filled: Testers have added a one-tonne load to a VW Crafter and tested seven size 235/65 R16C tyres on the laden vehicle. Two tyres – the Hankook Valtra LT and Pirelli’s new Carrier Camper – were voted test winners – and were rated “exemplary” along with Michelin’s Agilis+. Continental’s VancoCamper and Dunlop’s Econodrive occupied the mid-field with “satisfactory” ratings. Two tyres, the Firestone Vanhawk and the Nankang Passion CW-20, were rated “not recommended”.
