BorgWarner to acquire Delphi for $3.3 billion

BorgWarner Inc. and Delphi Technologies PLC agreed that BorgWarner will acquire Delphi Technologies in an all-stock transaction that values Delphi Technologies’ enterprise value at approximately $3.3 billion on 28 January 2020.

Delphi partners TomTom on driverless technology

Delphi Technologies PLC has announced a collaboration with TomTom, known for its satnav products. According to the two companies, the partners will collaborate on “electronic and software applications designed to further optimize vehicle fuel efficiency and emissions through the use of real-time mapping data”.

Melksham Motor Spares prepares for hybrid with Delphi Technologies Training

Melksham Motor Spares has begun to bring garages together to train with Delphi on its hybrid electric vehicle course. The company said the training would help to leverage the opportunity offered by the latest hybrid technology. Delphi’s IMI accredited hybrid vehicle training programme has been designed to give technicians the confidence and capability to work safely and effectively on hybrid systems.

98-year old garage amongst the first ‘City Brakes’ winners

The Parts Alliance’s ‘City Brakes’ promotion, which runs until the end of April, has found some of the 25 garages set to win luxury trips to top European cities. The holidays include three nights’ accommodation with flights and transfers for two people to Budapest, London, Amsterdam, Prague, Edinburgh, Paris, Dubrovnik, Rome, Barcelona or Brussels.

Delphi closes nuTonomy acquisition

Delphi Automotive, which will soon to become Aptiv, has closed its acquisition of nuTonomy, a leading developer of autonomous driving (AD) software solutions.

The deal, which was first announced on 24 October, sees Delphi pay an upfront purchase price of US$400 million and earn-outs totalling approximately $50 million.

Delphi and The Parts Alliance name six ‘Best of Brakes’ winners

The Parts Alliance says their second major braking promotion of 2017, developed in conjunction with Delphi, has now found all of its main winners.

‘Best of Brakes’ ran throughout September and October, offering six spectacular holidays, alongside 25,000 smaller prizes via scratch cards, included with Delphi brake pads.

The holiday cards were found by Graham Clark of Anderson Clark Motor Repairs in Inverness. The longstanding customer of Dingbro Inverness will be heading to Australia, whilst East Kilbride branch customer Alan Knox of Knox Brothers will jet out to Canada.

Service Delphi’s braking vans will both be out through September and October, aiming to visit 600 garages. The campaign will support of The Parts Alliance’s ‘Best of Brakes’ promotion, which is offering six spectacular holiday prizes.

The vans remind customers how they can win 25,000 prizes just by buying Delphi brake pads, with a video hosted by three-time BTCC Champion Matt Neal.

Delphi extends steering range with 175 new part numbers

Delphi Product & Service Solutions has launched 175 new steering part numbers to meet growing demand. The latest additions are on top of 400 steering part numbers launched during 2016. Together, Delphi’s total steering range covers over 24,500 applications and more than 90 per cent of the European vehicle parc. Further range development is planned throughout 2017, with the introduction of more than 450 part numbers.

Delphi launches ECE R90 certified brake discs

While Delphi states that its brake discs have been fully compliant with R90 quality standards for many years, its discs for new vehicles launched after 1 November 2016 will now be R90 homologated and certified. The recently introduced R90 legislation only applies to discs or drums for vehicles launched after 1 November 2016. Delphi is also securing R90 certification for discs fitted to older vehicle applications.
