LeasePlan UK to include driver pack including dash cam

Vehicle management group LeasePlan UK is to introduce a new Driver Pack including a dashboard camera (dash cam) in its vehicles as standard. LeasePlan says it is the only vehicle leasing company in the UK to offer this pack to all drivers.

New vans to increase GSF Car Parts delivery efficiency

GSF Car Parts has invested in 10 new VW Caddy vans to be used across the branch network. The vehicles will be added to the existing fleet rather than used as replacements, enabling more frequent local trade customer deliveries. The vans have been selected using criteria to evaluate a full range of factors including load capacity, fuel economy, purchase price and anticipated running cost – with VW Caddy scoring well across the board.

Korean dash cam market leader launches F50 model in UK

Thinkware has announced the launch of its latest dashboard camera (or “dash cam”), the F50, which is now available to purchase in the UK. The F50 is equipped with an Ambarella chipset and Sony Exmor CMOS image sensor that records detailed full HD 1080p video at 30 frames per second, a 130-degree viewing angle and a built in Active Impact monitoring system. Garmin has introduced the new Dash Cam 30 and Dash Cam 35. Representing the next generation of its Dash Cam range, these two high-definition, standalone driving recorders mount to a windshield and record footage in a continuous loop. Garmin Dash Cam starts recording when the vehicle is turned on and stops when it is turned off, serving as a driver’s eyewitness on the road. The Incident Detection (G-sensor) automatically saves video footage on impact. New driver alerts allow Dash Cam to not only record the drive ahead, but also offer helpful alerts that encourage safer driving behaviour for customers.

Unreported incidents increase as clocks go back

Research released following the end of British Summer Time has revealed that more than one in three drivers have been involved in an unreported incident with another car during the winter months. The survey by dash cams retailer, LaptopsDirect.co.uk, quizzed 1,000 car drivers on their experiences of driving during Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).
