New GT Radial Savero SUV targets growing compact, medium sized market

Giti Tire has launched its latest product, the GT Radial Savero SUV, which arrives in Europe to meet the growing demand in the SUV and CUV segments. The tyre was launched at an event in Barcelona, demonstrating the product’s suitability for fitment on a wide range of vehicles at the compact to medium end of the market.

Atturo introduces 10 new tyre sizes

Atturo Tire has added six new sizes to the AZ850 SUV tyre range and four new sizes to the AZ800 model. The new AX850 sizes are designed to address growing demand in the UHP SUV and crossover market segments. The new AZ800 sizes go in the other direction, covering some of the legacy sport truck sizes recently abandoned by many other manufacturers, but still in demand by the market.

Yokohama gives Geolandar H/T G056 4X4/SUV tyre a European debut in Geneva

Yokohama has announced plans to launch a new 4X4/SUV tyre – called the Geolandar H/T G056 – in Europe this summer. The new tyre features an orange oil-based compound which reportedly improves wet grip and shortens wet braking distance something that is clearly significant for European weather conditions.

Jaguar to make crossover vehicle in Solihull, creating 1,300 jobs

Jaguar Land Rover is to manufacture a new “performance crossover” vehicle at its Solihull production plant. According to the announcement made at the Detroit Motor Show, together with a bid to extend its expertise in aluminium and lightweight technologies, the company will create 1,300 new jobs. These are in addition to the 1700 created in 2013 for the introduction of the Jaguar XE. The company’s headcount has doubled over the past few years to more than 32,000 globally, of which 30,500 are in the UK.
