Continental appoints new UK and Eire OTR sales manager

Mike Leedham has been appointed as the new off-the-road (OTR) Sales Manager for Continental Tyre Group. Leedham will be responsible for developing Continental’s OTR business in the UK and Ireland, as the company continues the development of its earthmover tyres, launched to the market in 2016.

David Smith returns as Continental UK country manager

Following the purchase of Bandvulc in the summer of 2016, then managing director David Smith was promoted into the wider international role of Head of Channel Management Distribution and Region, North Europe for Continental. His 2018 promotion followed a 12-year tenure as UK MD that saw turnover at the UK business more than double. The latest news is that he has returned to the UK, so with all this in mind, Tyres & Accessories recently caught up with David Smith in order to talk about his return as well as both Continental and Bandvulc in the UK.

Samara Edwards Amos has become communications officer at Continental Tyre Group, and in this role will offer internal and external communications support across the UK and Ireland. She will support the company’s communications and automotive partnerships manager, Mark Griffiths, with media enquires across Continental product lines.

Micheldever signs General Tire exclusivity deal with Continental Tyre Group

Micheldever Tyre Services and Continental Tyre Group have signed an exclusive agreement for the sales of the General Tire brand in the UK. Formalised on 8 December 2010, the news follows 16 years that have seen the leading wholesaler develop the prestigious General 4×4 brand in the UK market and subsequently introducing the passenger and van range to the UK in 2010.
