Beissbarth becomes part of the Stertil Group

Beissbarth Automotive Testing Solutions GmbH is taking over Beissbarth GmbH as a subsidiary of Stertil B.V., effective 1 January 2023. Most self-administration proceedings Beissbarth GmbH applied for in July 2022 are therefore complete. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

Beissbarth GmbH to be restructured through self-administration

German automotive and workshop equipment manufacturer Beissbarth GmbH is to be restructured by the end of this year and has filed an application with the Munich District Court (Amtsgericht München) to open self-administration proceedings.

BASE Group firms Sicam, Werther request creditor arrangement

Tyre servicing equipment manufacturers Sicam and Werther International have requested an arrangement with creditors. The two associated companies are part of the Beissbarth Automotive Service Equipment (BASE) Group, controlled by Bavarian company Stargate Capital. The group also includes the UK’s Tecalemit, in addition to Beissbarth, Apac Lube, Accu-Turn, Oma, Tecnotest and Fog Automotive. Werther and Sicam are based in Italy

Not only are many cars already fitted with ADAS, the standardisation of various forms of ADAS on new vehicles, coupled with their adoption within the fast-growing electrified car parc, ensure that the demand for ADAS-enabled vehicle servicing will continue to rise. Therefore the ability to service increasingly connected vehicles remains the most prominent consideration for servicing equipment suppliers. Everard, the UK distributor of Beissbarth equipment, notes that ADAS recalibration represents a necessary step in many routine maintenance jobs, calling it a natural extension to wheel alignment services. Altering wheel alignment often changes the alignment of sensors and cameras; for ADAS to work as vehicle manufacturers intend, it is vital that these components are carefully and accurately recalibrated.

Ex-Beissbarth boss now at Hunter

Marco Kempin – formerly managing director at Beissbarth GmbH – recently announced his departure at his own request after 14 years. However, it is now clear where he gone. The team at our German sister publication Reifenpresse.de citing Kfz-Betrieb report that he has therefore taken over the management of Hunter Deutschland GmbH succeeding Martin Adams in this position who retired in the spring.

Beissbarth acquires API Car Systems

German workshop machinery and equipment manufacturer Beissbarth GmbH has acquired API Car Systems GmbH, a developer of robotic systems for touchless wheel alignment. Stargate Capital, which acquired Beissbarth along with Sicam in 2018, reports that API Car Systems became a Beissbarth company as of 1 January 2020. It will continue as a separate legal entity, with its headquarters remaining in Leipzig, Germany.

Bosch selling Beissbarth, Sicam businesses

Company News

German equity investment company Stargate Capital GmbH has entered into an agreement to purchase the Beissbarth GmbH and Sicam Srl subsidiaries from Robert Bosch GmbH. The purchase price has not been disclosed, and the deal’s finalisation is subject to approval from antitrust authorities.
