Tenneco acquires Federal-Mogul

Automotive parts manufacturer Federal-Mogul is changing hands for US$5.4 billion. The new owner is vehicle ride performance and clean air products manufacturer Tenneco Inc., which yesterday signed a definitive agreement to acquire the business from Icahn Enterprises L.P. The acquisition is to be funded through cash, Tenneco equity and assumption of debt and is expected to close in the second half of 2018, subject to regulatory and shareholder approvals and other customary closing conditions.

Borg & Beck’s range of starters, alternators and freewheeling pulleys has grown rapidly since its UK launch and now stands at more than 1,700 part numbers, making it one of the largest surcharge-free rotating electrics programme in the country. Available on an outright purchase basis, the range has been designed for convenience; without the surcharge arrangement applied to the price there is no requirement to return the old ‘core’ unit, meaning workshops can benefit from any scrap value themselves.

Klarius exhaust sourced by ECP helps 1978 Mercedes 350SL convertible onto road

A downpipe-back Klarius exhaust system sourced through Euro Car Parts’ online number plate look-up system has allowed father and son team John and David Baxter to get their 1978 Mercedes 350SL convertible on the road, having impulse-bought the car on eBay. Martin Gray, CEO of Euro Car Parts, commented: “I love it when things like this happen; we advertise Euro Car Parts as able to supply ‘any part for any car’ when someone challenges us by looking up a really obscure part on our website and we can supply it, it just proves we can walk-the-walk…”

WAI to show off new image and branding at Equip Auto

Solid Auto to distribute Denso aftermarket products

Solid Auto (UK) Ltd has become an official UK distributor for Denso aftermarket products. The West Midlands business is rapidly expanding its supply portfolio and states that the addition of the Denso brand will further complement the company’s specialism in the supply of Japanese and Korean car parts. The manufacturer’s spark plugs will initially be available from Solid Auto UK with more product groups likely to be added in the future.

Solid Auto UK renews Groupauto supply agreement

Solid Auto UK has renewed its supply agreement with Groupauto, marking a 10 year partnership for the Japanese and Korean specialist and buying group. The agreement covers all product groups including filters, brake pads and discs, clutches, cooling, steering and suspension, engine components and electrical.
