Yokohama celebrates brand boost as Chelsea wins Europa League

Yokohama is celebrating the success of Chelsea FC in the UEFA Europa League, for which the tyre manufacturer is shirt sponsor. The club’s emphatic 4-1 win against London rivals Arsenal in Wednesday’s match in Baku, Azerbaijan gave Chelsea its sixth European trophy and its first with Yokohama’s name on its shirt. A global television audience, including free-to-air coverage in the UK, provided Yokohama with increased brand visibility, the company states.

Arsenal players go head-to-head in Cooper Tire Europe’s ‘football darts’ challenge

Cooper Tire Europe has challenged three Arsenal FC players to compete in its latest precision test: football darts. Coinciding with the BDO Lakeside World Professional Darts Championships, the official tyre partner of Arsenal set up the contest for midfielder Granit Xhaka, winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and goalkeeper Petr Čech. Starting the game with a score of 301, the players aimed the ‘dart balls’ at the giant dartboard in a race to zero, and the chance to be named Cooper’s Football Darts champion. The resulting action was recorded for the latest Cooper video to feature Arsenal (available below).

Cooper brings together football and motorsport in pendulum Precision Challenge

A key marketing component of Cooper Tire Europe’s sporting sponsorships has been its Precision Challenge videos. In two previous instalments, the tyre manufacturer challenged players from Arsenal, to whom Cooper is the Official Tyre partner, to hit targets made of tyres. In the third such challenge, Cooper brings together drivers from the World Rallycross Championship, for which it is the exclusive tyre supplier, and three more Arsenal stars to compete in another difficult test of accuracy.

The official tyre partner of Arsenal Football Club has been testing its players’ accuracy with a second Precision Challenge. In its second such video, Cooper Tire Europe challenges Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mathieu Debuchy and Kieran Gibbs, joined by football choreographer Andy Ansah, to a set-piece specialist tyre test. Striking the ball in and through the Cooper Zeon 4XS Sport – Cooper’s latest high performance SUV tyre – was not an easy task for the players. Watch the video below to see which of the trio came out on top.

Cooper Tire Europe extends Arsenal association with #MatchReady competition

Cooper, the first ‘Official Tyre of Arsenal Football Club’ has launched a new competition asking fans of the club to share their pre-match rituals. The tyre brand is using the hashtag #MatchReady to engage fans on social media, with three Arsenal stars taking part in the campaign-launching fan film (see below). Cooper is asking players and fans across Europe to share their #MatchReady rituals on Twitter, with the chance to win two tickets to see Arsenal v Swansea in the Premier League, hosted by former midfielder and ‘Romford Pelé’, Ray Parlour.

In its role as Arsenal’s official tyre partner, Cooper Tire Europe has produced a video examining the accuracy of five Arsenal players. In the video, Cooper overlays graphics onto the original video, examining the varying styles and techniques as the players tried out the precisions shooting challenge. The five players were Santi Cazorla, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mesut Ozil, Lukas Podolski and goalkeeper, Wojciech Szczesny.

Cooper Tire Europe has produced a new video with the help of its partner, Arsenal Football Club. Midfielders, Santi Cazorla and Mesut Özil, and forward, Lukas Podolski were asked to show their accuracy skills on a bespoke structure topped with four of Cooper’s Zeon CS Sport performance tyres. A secondary test involved aiming through a single tyre, hung from the top right of the goal mouth. The video is available to view below.

Cooper supports Arsenal’s ‘Premier League Kicks’

As we as being the official tyre of Arsenal Football Club, Cooper Tire Europe reports that it was delighted to welcome 10 youngsters from Arsenal’s ‘Premier League Kicks’ programme as guests to the Arsenal versus Besiktas Champions League game at Emirates Stadium, on Wednesday 27 August.

The Premier League Kicks team represented Arsenal in an Under 16s tournament against Millwall and Green Island FC, from Belfast, on 2 August in Bellingham, south east London, where the Arsenal boys put in some fine performances to claim victory.

Cooper Tire Europe has announced that it is sponsoring Arsenal Football Club in a multi-year deal. The partnership, which will begin before the start of the 2014/15 season, will see the Melksham-based tyre manufacturer become an official partner to the north London club. The exclusive sponsorship designates the Cooper brand as the first “Official Tyre of Arsenal Football Club” for Europe, Russia, Middle East, South Africa and selected north African countries and links the company’s passion for performance to football through the development of various advertising campaigns, consumer marketing programmes and promotions. No details of how much has been invested in the partnership have been revealed.

Premier League fleet provider applauds Michelin mileage

Merseyside’s Ellisons Travel specialises on providing chauffeured travel to some of the top names in professional sport, supplying Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea as well as the England Rugby Union team. Following a recent test, the company says that it will switch its luxury car fleet to Michelin tyres, having experienced improved performance and up to 30 per cent extra mileage. Ellisons’ fleet of 42 Mercedes S and E class cars will be put onto the policy first, with the company’s policy on a further three Mercedes Sprinters and 23 luxury coaches under review.
