AME International, the Florida-based tyre and wheel service equipment/tool provider, has appointed Don Tinker, an industry veteran who will focus on growing the North American market.
Tinker’s past experience has been primarily in the automotive industry, ranging from retail, dealership and individual shops to the automotive aftermarket, where he focused on TPMS, undercar and shop equipment.
AME International, the Florida-based tyre service tool manufacturer, has launched a new handheld digital tyre inflator called the Dura-Flate.
According to the company, the Dura-Flate measures, inflates, and deflates tyre with “advanced precision”. Powered by two AAA batteries, the Dura-Flate provides 80 hours of battery life, making it the must-have shop or service truck tool.

AME International introduced its 2014 Tool and Equipment Catalogue during this year’s SEMA show held at the Las Vegas Convention Center 5-8 November. The new AME 2014 catalogue purportedly showcases the company’s expanded range of tyre and wheel service products used around the world by retail, commercial and OTR tyre dealers.
Prema Canada, ULC, one of North America’s largest distributors of tyre and wheel service supplies, has named AME International as its supplier of the year. The award was presented last month during the company’s annual distributor training and vendor trade show in Toronto.
AME International has introduced its new Nut Buddy tool at the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Kentucky on 22-24 March. The tool allows wheel nuts over-tightened by an impact wrench to be removed by hand. “This tool is so simple to use, a child could easily remove wheel-nuts on an 18 wheeler that have been over-tightened,” commented Brett Waggoner, vice-president of the Brooksville, Florida tool manufacturer. “For anyone who is doing road service or removing truck wheels in the shop, it’s a huge timesaver.”
AME International recently promoted Kyle Sparkman to the newly created role of mining industry product manager. Sparkman credits his success with new product sales to a combination of the steady growth of emerging market economies and the ability of AME to provide customers with its mining equipment in a timely manner. Sparkman and AME plan to continue expanding their product line to match the demands of the expanding mineral industry.
The Retread Tire Association (RTA), formed following Harvey Brodsky’s departure from the Tire Retread & Repair Information Bureau, reports the addition of another 12 members to its ranks. New member companies include: AME International, Black’s Tire Service, Frasier Tire Service, Jirah Inc., Malerba’s Consulting LLC, Purcell Tire, Tesla Electronics and Tire Stamp, all US-based. New from Canada are Kirk’s Tire and West End Tire, while Earthmover Tyres of Scotland and Makepeace Agencies from Australia also have joined.
US based tyre-changing tool and equipment supplier AME International brought to Singapore a product portfolio that includes bead breakers, hydraulic pumps, the ‘X-tend’ pneumatic tyre spreader and the Titan Pro Series of tyre tools and garage equipment.

At the world renowned SEMA show in Las Vegas last November, AME International recently introduced its Rollock wheel loss prevention device. Rollock is a patented clamp which is placed over two truck wheel nuts. Once in place, the product does not allow the nuts to loosen. Loosened wheel nuts can cause a serious accident in which the wheel assembly actually comes off of the vehicle while driving at highway speeds, an accident commonly referred to as a ‘wheel-off’.
