STARCO has taken on distribution of the Alliance and Galaxy agricultural, forestry and construction tyre lines in Switzerland under a newly-negotiated agreement with Alliance Tire Group (ATG). As authorised partner for the representation and distribution of Alliance and Galaxy tyres throughout this market, STARCO will provide its warehouse and distribution facilities as well as its expertise and skills in order to make ATG’s products more accessible to Swiss customers.
Visitors to this week’s LAMMA show are amongst the first to see a new Alliance radial tractor tyre, the Agri Star II. Alliance Tyre Group (ATG) will launch the Agri Star II around the world in the weeks following its LAMMA debut, with 76 SKUs across the 70-s and 85- series available right from the start. This range is expected to cover almost 100 per cent of market requirements.
Alliance tyres – you’ll find them where even mountain goats don’t dare to tread. Together with German distributor Bohnenkamp, ATG has helped its tyres reach new heights by sponsoring an expedition upon the highest active volcano in the world, Ojos del Salado. The expedition team, driving Mercedes-Benz Unimog U5023 trucks fitted with Alliance tyres, reached an altitude of 6,694 metres during their quest to install life-saving solar-powered emergency radio communication systems in high mountain shelters. This feat broke the previous truck and car altitude records.
Uwe Sieger is Alliance Tire Group’s new country manager for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. As such he takes responsibility for sales activities related to the Alliance and Galaxy brands in these markets. Sieger succeeds Friedhelm Kaufmann, who has been appointed OE key account manager for the region.
Agricultural and construction machinery manufacturer Manitou has bestowed a Best Competitive Performer Award 2019 upon Alliance Tire Group. The tyre maker says the award recognises its “excellent cooperation and consistent performance on diverse levels from the development and testing to the procurement and service phase.”
In addition to presenting its award-winning Alliance 398 MPT and forestry innovations such as the Forestar 644 and Forestar 344 ELIT, ATG will unveil a new addition to its portfolio of tyres targeted at the lawn, garden and turf segments.
Following on from the Alliance 389 MPT’s receipt of an Agritechnica Innovation Award Silver Medal last week, the focus now shifts to another innovation in the Alliance tyre portfolio. The Alliance Forestar 344 ELIT has been nominated for the Agritechnica ‘Systems and Components Trophy – Engineers’ Choice’.
After examining 291 finalists, an independent expert commission appointed by the German Agricultural Society (DLG) has selected the Agritechnica 2019 Innovation Award winners. In addition to bestowing a single Gold Award, the judging panel has given the Silver Award to 39 firms who’ve brought innovative products to market in the past couple of years. One such firm is Alliance Tire Europe, which received a Silver Award for its Alliance 398 MPT high speed flotation tyre. Alliance Tire is the only tyre maker to be awarded.

Alliance Tire Group (ATG) present its latest Alliance and Galaxy branded OTR products for a wide range of machines, from backhoe and skid steer loaders to excavators, heavy loaders and forklifts, at BAUMA. The newest tyres included the Galaxy LHD 500 SDS for heavy forklifts and wheel loaders and the Alliance A585 for compact and backhoe loaders. The company said its exhibition represented a strong cross-section of its high-performance portfolio for a broad range of operations and machines, offered at a price-point to target value for money.
Alliance Tire Group claims to have written “a new chapter in the history of efficient transportation” with the release of its Alliance 398 MPT multi-purpose tyre for trucks used in agricultural and forestry applications. The tubeless 398 MPT was developed to provide optimum traction and soil protection when off-road as well as speeds of up to 100 km/h and excellent driving stability on the road. The result, says ATG, is shorter work cycles as well as time and labour savings.
ATG has presented its latest addition to the Alliance tyre range at the Bauma show. The Alliance A585 has been developed for construction machinery such as compact and backhoe loaders. ATG says the A585 offers excellent traction on dry, wet and wintery surfaces. It adds that the tyre also features superior puncture resistance and extremely low wear, particularly when used on hard and highly abrasive surfaces.
Alliance Tire Group (ATG) has doubled its warranty on specific agricultural radial steel belted tyres, introducing a new ten-year workmanship and materials warranty as of 1 January 2019. This makes the guarantee one of the longest warranty periods offered in the sector to date. For all other ATG agricultural tyres, the warranty is now extended to seven years.
Alliance Tire Group (ATG) is showcasing the brand’s agricultural expertise at LAMMA, the UK’s largest agricultural and machinery show (8-9 January 2019, Birmingham NEC). It is displaying its row crop Agriflex 363 IF and the Agriflex 372 VF for tractors, the Alliance 389VF, Alliance 885 and Alliance 882 Agri-Transport radial flotation tyres for implements, and the versatile Multiuse 550. The Alliance agricultural tyre range is exclusively distributed in the UK and Ireland by Kirkby Tyres.
Alliance Tire Americas has strengthened its aftermarket business with two new key appointments. Allen Lyons has been named vice-president of Aftermarket Sales, West and Canada, and that Seth Walters has been promoted to vice-president of Aftermarket Sales, East.
