Hankook tyres help set altitude record

Hankook has been instrumental in setting a new Guinness World Records title with Challenge4 record-breaking driver Rainer Zietlow, in conquering the South American Andes. The all-electric vehicle reached a height of 5,816 metres up the Uturuncu volcano, which has two peaks reaching 6,008 and 5,930 metres. Zietlow set the new record on Hankook’s new all-terrain tyre, the Dynapro AT2.

Outpost AT – Nokian Tyres launches latest all-terrain tyre

Nokian Tyres has introduced the first model in a family of tyres it says will “strongly support” the company’s growth targets in coming years. This is the Nokian Tyres Outpost AT, an all-season tyre for SUVs, crossovers and light trucks that “delivers safe, durable driving on any road – or off the road.” The Finnish manufacturer plans to sell this all-terrain product in markets all around the world.

Davanti unveils wave of new product, partnership news at first conference

Davanti marked its fifth anniversary with its first international dealer conference at the end of February. The tyre brand hosted more than 150 attendees by Everton Football Club’s Goodison Park, where it’s development director Gary Cross took the opportunity to announce its upcoming products, including range extensions and what might be called the second generation of Davanti tyres given the new naming conventions first introduced in the Wintoura winter tyre and Terratoura all-terrain 4×4 tyre ranges. Davanti sales director for UK and Ireland Sean Maddocks also presented observations on tyre markets, the development of the brand’s global dealer network over the past five years, and its commercial partnerships including the renewal of its official brand partnership with Everton FC.

Devon General Tire Performance Partner, TyreMarks of Tavistock, is supplying volunteer-led Dartmoor Search & Rescue Team with 4×4 and SUV tyres. General Tire and TyreMarks have provided a set of Grabber AT3 all-terrain tyres to the search and rescue team to ensure they can carry out their work safely, responding to emergencies on the wild and remote uplands of Dartmoor. It has also saved the team hundreds of pounds in charitable donations that are used to fund the service.

Recent all-terrain pattern extends Kumho 4×4 range

Kumho’s 4×4 tyre range has was recently extended by the addition of the Road Venture AT61 tyre. While there are a range of Kumho 4×4 products from which to choose, the majority of requirements are covered by on-road products as the Crugen HP91 and KL33, plus the cross-functional Road Venture patterned MT51 and newly-launched AT61. Between them they cover everything from such top end SUVs as the Range Rover and BMW X5 to the ever-popular Land Rover Defender.

Terratoura all-terrain tyre extends Davanti range

Since launching with the mass-market focused DX390 and high performance DX640 in 2015, UK based Davanti Tyres has developed and tuned its range to target expansion into global markets. Last year the company produced its first winter tyres to increase its ability to access customers in the northern hemisphere, especially those countries with legislation requiring the fitment of cold weather tread. Now, in a press launch event at Millbrook, where development partner Tread has been testing for the brand, Davanti has brought to market another fitment designed to increase its reach into global markets, the all-terrain Terratoura, in 10 initial sizes between 15 and 17 inches.
