Pirelli Diablo Superbike tyres feature in SBK22 video game
Pirelli’s Diablo Superbike tyres feature in the latest video game based on the FIM Superbike World Championship. Developed by Milestone, the game allows players to choose the tyres to be fitted, modifying the behaviour of the motorbike based on the compound used. The realism of the game was boosted by the involvement of professional riders and experts, including Pirelli itself. The manufacturer supplied tyre data to help the game-maker simulate the performance of real Pirelli World Superbike tyres. Pirelli branding is also seen in-game in the realistically rendered circuits.
Pirelli, the sole tyre supplier of WorldSBK, said that its tyres represent an important component capable of influencing gameplay. Players can choose to equip their motorbikes with the different compounds of Diablo Superbike tyres, with a realistic allocation dry and wet tyres, varying from track to track. Both standard solutions and development options have been included. The game’s algorithm modifies the behaviour of the motorcycle depending on the based on the choice of compound, making players consider tyre decisions carefully.
SBK22 features the Official WorldSBK 2022 Championship grid and, always with the aim of offering to those who want it, an experience that is as similar to the real-world Championship riders’ experience. The game also features a Career mode, which aims to replicate the real-life WorldSBK Championship with the calendar of events, weekends, official riders and members of the official teams. Its multiplayer mode allows up to 12 players to compete simultaneously online, with the possibility of creating high-level competitions. SBK22 is available now for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Steam.
Milestone, a worldwide racing game developer, and Pirelli have a long-standing collaboration. The two Italian companies work together on other titles made by Milestone, from the RIDE series to those dedicated to MXGP and Supercross.
