Construction of Tatneft’s new joint venture tyre plant in Kazakhstan has commenced with the installation of the first concrete pillar at the site in Saran. Workers are driving in piles parallel to laying foundations in order to ensure the project’s completion on schedule, and Tatneft anticipates it will inaugurate the factory at the end of next year.

The Tatneft Construction Projects Department is implementing the turnkey project. The Russian company states that its expert team’s prior experience in implementing large-scale industrial projects enables it to build highly complex production facilities from scratch, from engineering design to commissioning of the facility with the supply of equipment.

The new KamaTyresKZ plant is a joint venture between Tatneft and the Allur Group of Companies. The facility will have capacities to produce 3 million passenger car and light commercial vehicle tyres as well as 500,000 commercial vehicle tyres per annum. The partners will sell these products in Kazakhstan’s original equipment and replacement markets and also export them to neighbouring countries.
