Scotland-based Soltyre Ltd has expanded into the Northern English market with the opening of a new branch in Sowerby Bridge, Yorkshire. Soltyre currently runs its tyre operations from eight locations in Scotland (Aidrie, Aberdeen, Brechin, Dundee, Dumfries and Edinburgh). News of the new Sowerby Bridge location brings the company’s branch total up to nine.

At the same time as publishing the branch opening news on social media, Soltyre managing director Alan Smith announced the appointment of Andy Smith as regional director, saying: “Andy…and his team who will assist in the development of the location and developments south of the border.”

Prior to joining Soltyre, Andy Smith spent roughly 18 months with McConnechy’s Tyre Service and 20 years at GW Tyres, Wakefield and Gordon’s Tyres, Leeds before that.
