Celsius: New Toyo all-season tyres for cars & vans

Date: 19th April 2021 Author: Stephen Goodchild Comments: 0
Toyo Celsius AS2 (l) & Celsius Cargo

Toyo Tires is introducing two new all-season tyres this summer, the Toyo Celsius AS2 for small and medium cars and SUVs and Toyo Celsius Cargo for vans. The tyre maker says it developed these new models for all weather conditions, and they thus “provide excellent performance and driving stability all year round.”

Celsius AS2

With new Celsius AS2, safety meets enhanced mobility: the tyre’s new directional tread pattern optimally evacuates water – for aquaplaning resistance combined with increased grip in wet and snow conditions. The all-season tyre features Toyo Tires’ dynamic taper design, with tapered edges on the tread blocks increasing braking performance on both wet and dry roads by reducing tread deformation to improve contact with the road. Toyo Tires adds that the tyre’s low rolling resistance also ensures low fuel consumption.

The Celsius AS2 size range includes fitments for the larger diameter rims and lower profile sizes that OEMs prefer as original equipment. New Celsius AS2 will be available in rim sizes up to 20 inches and section widths to 255 mm.

Celsius Cargo

Toyo Tires calls Celsius Cargo the “ultimate all-rounder for vans” and says the all-season tyre features high traction on snow and optimal braking performance in wet conditions. Its asymmetric tread pattern with three grooves offers all-season performance on the outside of the tyre, while the inside optimises winter performance. Multi-wave sipes minimise irregular wear, improve wet braking performance and enhance snow grip. Special slush grooves and zigzag quick-claw blocks, add grip on snow and slush.

The Toyo Celsius Cargo comes in rim sizes 14 to 17 inches and widths 175 to 235 mm.
