Automechanika Frankfurt postponed till 2021

Date: 6th May 2020 Author: Chris Anthony Comments: 0
German garage While Automechanika Frankfurt has itself been postponed until 2021, a number of online events are planned for this autumn that focus on training and professional development for German workshops in particular

Messe Frankfurt and its customers, partners and supporting associations have agreed to postpone the Automechanika Frankfurt event that was originally scheduled to take place from 8 to 12 September 2020 due to the coronavirus crisis. The new dates are 14 to 18 September 2021. Automechanika Frankfurt will then resume its biennial rotation – the event will now be taking place in odd-numbered years.

According to the show organisers, it simply would not have been possible for many of the exhibitors and visitors from over 180 countries to take part in the event under the conditions currently prevailing or those expected at that time.

However, a number of online events are planned for this autumn that focus on training and professional development for German workshops in particular. Automechanika is collaborating with various trade media organisations, influencers, multipliers and associations to plan these events.

Detlef Braun, Member of the Executive Board of Messe Frankfurt, explained: “Our top priority is ensuring the health and safety of everyone – exhibitors and visitors alike – taking part in the event. With waves of the pandemic moving around the globe and many countries not expecting it to peak until the summer, I am certain that the decision to postpone Automechanika until September 2021 is the right one. Over the past two weeks in particular, we have been engaged in intensive discussions with our customers, partners and supporting associations, and they sent us a clear signal. By holding the event in 2021, we are responding to our customers’ wishes.”
