Linglong Tire wants place in global top-5 by 2030

Date: 21st April 2020 Author: Stephen Goodchild Comments: 0

Linglong Tire aims to become a top-five tyre maker by 2030. It voices this goal in a recently-published document outlining the company’s mid- and long-term strategy. Specifically, it intends to increase tyre production to 160 million pieces a year within the next decade, and by doing so grow annual sales revenues to more than RMB 80 billion (£9.1 billion).

Expansion of this scale won’t be achievable under Linglong’s ‘5+3’ strategy. Therefore, in order to meet its planned development and to enable production in closer geographic proximity to end users, the tyre maker intends to adopt a ‘6+6’ strategy, with six production sites within China and six in other locations around the world. Sites for three additional international plants will be selected next year.
