Phase 2 trial production starts at BKT’s carbon black plant

Phase 2 trial production started on 12 March

Balkrishna Industries Limited (BKT) reports that it commenced trial production for the second phase of its carbon black facility in Bhuj, India on 12 March. Trial production at the currently 80,000 tonne per annum facility began ahead of schedule, the tyre maker adds.

The plan is for the facility to achieve its 100 per cent capacity of 130,000 tonnes a year by 2021. This will involve adding 50,000 tonnes of soft grade carbon black capacity to the existing 80,000 tonnes of hard grade carbon black.
