Bridgestone: Covid-19 hasn’t impacted global personnel or supply

As major tyre businesses reveal their responses to the coronavirus (Covid-19), Bridgestone reports that the epidemic has not impacted its global personnel or its product supply. In a written statement given on 10 March 2020, a Bridgestone spokesperson told Tyres & Accessories:

“Our most important priority is to ensure the well-being and safety of our employees and the integrity of our operations. At this time, we’ve had no impact to our global personnel or supply of product to customers, but we are monitoring the situation closely and taking necessary steps as things progress.”

T&A understands that Bridgestone’s preparedness stretches to requiring visitors to its offices to sign a declaration affirming that they have visited China, Iran or Italy during the last 14 days. However, Bridgestone’s statement doesn’t refer to this apparent policy and instead continues by referring to global health agencies:

“We are also continuing to monitor advice from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO), as well as government regulations in countries where our teammates work and travel to update travel advisories and restrictions, as necessary.”
