Matt Johnson to head new Maxam Mining Group operation

A new team has been set up within Maxam Tire to handle the specific requirements of customers in the open pit mining segment. Maxam Mining Group (MMG) is made up of team members across multiple continentals who are tasked with serving regional market demands. It is headed by Matt Johnson, who has been appointed the operation’s vice president.

According to Maxam Tire, each member of the MMG team is an “industry leading expert dedicated to providing the best customer experience along with superior business solutions.” It adds that possessing a global team that can research and test in multiple mine locations around the world enables MMG to develop solutions that “exceed site requirements,” such as site-specific tyre compounding and next-generation casing designs.

“To meet our engineering team’s advanced innovations, the Maxam Mining Group has invested heavily in our state-of-the-art manufacturing and quality process,” shares Maxam Tire. “All mining products are produced in multi-staged, custom designed building equipment. This new technology allows for consistent construction and minimal disruption of the casing during the curing process.”

Maxam Tire reports that MMG utilises shearography technology to screen all Maxam mining products for internal defects as part of the standard inspection they undergo. In addition, extensive ultrasonic gauge testing is completed before a product is approved for distribution.

Introducing the new head of MMG, Maxam Tire says Johnson has “years of valuable industry experience” that will enable him to “lead our team of experts in providing the best business solutions for the industry.”
