Beissbarth acquires API Car Systems

Post-acquisition, API Car Systems will continue as a separate legal entity

German workshop machinery and equipment manufacturer Beissbarth GmbH has acquired API Car Systems GmbH, a developer of robotic systems for touchless wheel alignment. Stargate Capital, which acquired Beissbarth along with Sicam in 2018, reports that API Car Systems became a Beissbarth company as of 1 January 2020. It will continue as a separate legal entity, with its headquarters remaining in Leipzig, Germany.

“We are pleased to be able to welcome in API Car Systems GmbH a further company into the BASE (Beissbarth Automotive Service Equipment) Group,” says Marco Kempin, chief financial officer of the BASE Group and managing director of Beissbarth GmbH. “We anticipate, based upon both companies’ existing experience, impetus for continued business expansion, particularly in the area of service.”

“Nothing will change for API Car Systems GmbH customers as a result of the change,” stressed Stefan Bodeit, who is responsible for OE and marketing at Beissbarth GmbH. “Service, maintenance and spare parts supply will, as usual, be conducted and ensured by qualified API staff, and all contractual obligations will of course be fulfilled.”
