TRA to share offices with NTDA

Tyre Recovery Association president Tim Stott addresses delegates at the TRA Forum day

As of 1 January 2020, the Tyre Recovery Association (TRA) will share its address with the National Tyre Distributors Association (NTDA) in Aylesbury. According to the association, TRA’s new address is:

Tyre Recovery Association

Offices Above STS Tyre Pros

Corner of Park Street and Osier Way

Park Street

Aylesbury

HP20 1DX

The TRA also has a new dedicated phone line and email address, but the website address remains the same. From the first of 1 January 2020, the new number is 01296 820704. The new email address is  office@tyrerecovery.org.uk.

Sharing offices inevitably involves a closer working relationship. With this in mind, Tyres & Accessories contacted the NTDA and asked: how much closer cooperation between the NTDA and TRA will take place as a result of this move?

In response NTDA chief executive Stefan Hay pointed out that the NTDA and TRA have been working “very closely for some time”. To be specific, “Peter Taylor and Tim Stott, in his capacity as TRA president, now sit on the NTDA Executive Council and I sit on the TRA’s Steering Group”, Hay explained.

There are clearly synergies in the work of the two associations, primarily because NTDA members are removing vast numbers of end of life tyres from vehicles on a daily basis and the TRA members are collecting and reprocessing them.

“Naturally, environmental issues are of joint major concern and certainly NTDA members are now actively encouraged to ensure they use TRA Responsible Recycling Scheme members to collect and reprocess their end of life tyres”, Hay continued, adding:

“Having the knowledge and experience of Peter Taylor and Tim Stott at NTDA Executive Council meetings is invaluable and at the last meeting Peter presented an outstanding update on key issues, initiatives and potential legislative changes that could/will affect both distributors and collectors.”

Moving forward, both associations are dedicated to raising standards and professionalism in the UK tyre supply chain and so have this common ground upon which to base their ongoing cooperation.
