JK Tyre and Rivigo partner in TPMS, TaaS project

Indian logistics firm Rivigo has partnered with JK Tyre & Industries Ltd to introduce a patented Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) that sends live tyre condition data every few seconds. The Rivigo-originated system – called TREEL – uses algorithms for predictive analysis and features demounting and anti-theft alerts.

Vibhanshu Abhishek, Head of Data and AI at Rivigo said: “At Rivigo, we have always believed that IOT and data science are keys to smart and intelligent trucking solutions. We are proud to partner with JK Tyre & Industries Ltd to create the future of tyre management through IOT. Over the years we have come up with the science to turn trucks into IOT-enabled vehicles using technologies to track truck vitals, including fuel, driving behaviour and safety. The learnings through data on tyre performance will help manufacture better tyres for Indian roads.”

Sanjeev Sharma, GM Fleet Management, JK Tyre & Industries Ltd, said the partnership is aimed at driving synergies between both brands to maximize efficiencies: “JK Tyre & Industries Ltd is happy to partner logistics firm Rivigo to introduce the revolutionary sensor-based technology TREEL in commercial fleets in India. The partnership is based on driving synergies between both our companies, leveraging on each other’s expertise to bring an innovative solution to commercial fleet owners who can now use the customized tyre management service to bring efficiencies to their business leading to greater profits”.

Branded as “TREEL the TPMS technology powered by JK Tyre” the technology dovetails into a telematics and analytical system that includes a cloud-based, web and mobile application called TMaaS (Tyre Management as a Service) and JK Connect-smart tyre sensors for “complete visibility to the driver in-cabin and to the Control Center”.

According to the TREEL website, the project appears to have launched in 2016, before an alpha version dropped in 2017. TREEL has reportedly been running live since 2018.
