Maxxis to supply OE to Hero MotoCorp

Numerous Indian news sources are reporting that Maxxis India has entered into an OE supply arrangement with scooter manufacturer Hero MotoCorp. As a result, Maxxis is set to supply its 90/100-10 M6000 53J front and rear tyres.

In January Maxxis India entered a strategic partnership with Honda Motorcycle and Scooters India that made available co-branded Maxxis tyres at HMSI and Maxxis dealerships. The deal with Honda allows Maxxis India to reach customers through HMSI’s country-wide network with its co-branded M6000 tyres.

Maxxis India rolled out its first two-wheeler tyres produced at its facility in Sanand to Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India last August.

Hero Motocorp is the largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the world and also in India. India is clearly seen as a key part of Maxxis international growth strategy.

Maxxis India Plant Head Chun-Hsuan Liu said: “It is a big step towards realizing our vision of capturing 15 per cent of India’s two-wheeler tyre market by 2023. This association will be pivotal to our overall growth and help us achieve our target to triple our production volume in FY19.”
