Automechanika Birmingham 2019 opens

Automechanika Birmingham has opened today. The show, which aims to bring together professionals within the automotive aftermarket and vehicle production sector in the UK and Ireland, was opened by mechanic and motorcycle racer turned television presenter, Guy Martin at the NEC Birmingham (Halls 18-20). More than 500 exhibitors will take part, giving visitors the opportunity to learn about the latest innovations and product launches in the aftermarket and vehicle production industry. The tyre segment is represented with stands for Yokohama and the National Tyre Distributors Association.

Leading suppliers exhibiting in 2019 include: Schaeffler, ZF, Hella, Yuasa, Denso, Delphi Technologies, Valeo, NGK, Bosch UK and Mann Filter, with 120 new exhibitors including: Shell, Brembo, Sherwin Williams, APEC Braking, SIA Abrasives, KYB, Anest Iwata, Pioneer and Thatcham Research.

This year’s seminar programme features forum sessions and technical talks from more than 75 expert speakers, trainers and key players, tailored to garages, factors and suppliers, including more than 100 hours of free training seminars and debates for technicians. Those attending the free CPD technical training sessions, accredited by Automechanika Global Skills Partner, IMI, will qualify for a free IMI certificate of attendance, which rewards technicians with CPD credits.

Jack Halliday, event director of Automechanika Birmingham, states: “The automotive industry deserves an enormous amount of credit for coming together at Automechanika Birmingham to do business and celebrate innovation within the sector.

“2019 is the last year before the show returns in 2021, so pre-event registration numbers have been looking extremely strong, with an increase in the number of motor factors and garages registering.

“This is also reflected in the number of major suppliers that are exhibiting, to ensure the latest products, services and technology are showcased to the UK market before 2021.”
