Maxxis launches nationwide MX-ST campaign

Retail customers and dealers will both benefit from a new nationwide campaign that Maxxis is launching for its new Maxxcross MX-ST tyre. MX-ST buyers have the chance to win an all-expenses-paid trip to the MXGP of Italy at Imola on 18 August.

Supported by a multi-channel launch – which includes consumer advertising across digital, print, and social media, plus a consumer media-focused PR campaign and in-store point-of-sale material – Maxxis is offering customers who purchase a pair of MX-ST tyres the chance to enter into a prize draw to win the trip of a lifetime for any motocross fan, while retailers that order five pairs of the new tyre will also be entered into a separate draw for their own expenses-paid trip to the Italian motocross Grand Prix.

“Since the tyre has been available to teams in the MXGP and EMX championships we’ve had nothing but positive feedback from riders and mechanics,” says Derek McMartin, Maxxis International UK’s managing director. “The new MX-ST was designed and developed with one goal in mind, which was to provide a higher level of performance in all areas, than currently available from our rivals. Now, we’re ready to have an aggressive push to consumers in the motocross market and ensure clubman and national championship riders alike want to be on the MX-ST, in turn ensuring repeat custom for our retail partners, to who we are also delighted to be able to offer the chance to visit the Italian Grand Prix in August as our special guest.”

The new MX-ST has been comprehensively tested and developed by Maxxis in partnership with seven-time AMA Supercross champion Jeremy McGrath, with a new, unique tread block design for improved grip and cornering performance, while also extending tyre life. The MX-ST’s lightweight, pliable carcass design also delivers greater stability, comfort, and improves feel, impact absorption, and confidence over jumps. The tyre has already proven its pedigree in the EMX250 championship, with Alberto Forato winning both motos and taking the overall victory onboard his Maxxis-shod Husqvarna at both Matterley Basin and Trentino.

Currently available for 21- and 19-inch rims, more sizes will be available in the summer, making the MX-ST available for youth and junior championships also.

Maxxis is also an official tyre supplier and title sponsor of both MXGP and the British Motocross Championship, and is currently offering a win bonus in the domestic series that can see riders on the MX-ST win £150 per round.
